Saturday evening I was becoming increasingly worried about my cat straining with constipation.
I didn’t feel I could wait until my own vet opened Monday morning.
I telephoned Medivet Faygate 24hr Seer’s Croft at 7:30pm and was offered an appointment for 10pm. I was told the starting cost at that time.
I was greeted by the reception nurse and then the vet who did a thorough examination of my cat, listened to my explanation of the problem and history. The vet gave treatment, advice and medicine to continue treatment at home.
It is now Sunday evening and my cat is continuing his recovery.
Without Medivet Faygate we would have had a very stressful and sleepless night/weekend.
I wouldn’t hesitate to call on them again if needed.
They were professional, caring, compassionate, helpful and greatly reassuring.
Thank you Seer’s Croft.

While they are available 24/7, out of hours consultation is extremely expensive, and I only managed to afford it this one time because I put off paying another bill. I find it somewhat unethical that in these times where many of us are having to choose between eating and paying our energy bills that there are such hefty fees just because our pet has health issues outside of our regular vet's opening hours. These fees have gone up dramatically since changing ownership to Medivet, when they were already very high before. Even with insurance with an insurer that we could normally claim direct with, we are required to have a lot of money available up front, and if we don't have that, we have to watch our pets suffer and possibly die. This situation will continue to worsen as the cost of living crisis continues. So while the staff are friendly and do their job, it's a service I imagine most couldn't afford when it's needed most.

Our dog had a stomach upset and we were advised to bring him in, only to leave with a £120 bill with £65 charged for an anti sickness injection which the necessity of this being up for debate. The vet informed us that stomach viruses are common in dogs at this time of year and that unless they are sicking up or pooing pools/significant amounts of blood to feed them a bland diet, keep them hydrated and monitor symptoms over a week period. Ideally this would have been mentioned over the phone in the first instance and we would have proceeded with such care at home without incurring the fee.
The net result is that I have lost my trust in the practice.

I am very impressed with this practice so far. Took our Bulldog in for a health check and Dan picked up on other infections that had been missed by our previous vet. The ladies on reception are so friendly and helpful too. We are very happy with the service we have experienced.

my wife called on Sunday as our dog was passing blood. The lady took our details but told us we could not use your service as our normal vet was not registered with you. You are an emergency vet and my understanding is that you would not refuse to see any animal in distress.
Not being able to use your service resulted in a long journey to Tunbridge Wells causing the dog additional stress and sickness.
Please advise if I am mistaken and your emergency service only caters for animals if the normal vets are registered with you and we can take you off our list and advise others via our neighbourhood website.

From reception through to the vet, everyone was lovely to both me and my oversized puppy (she’s a NewfyPoo puppy so everything is exaggerated- imagine mischievous puppy x 1000…. this is her!). Thanks everyone🐾🥰

My cat was poorly and although the vets were extremely busy, they still managed to fit her in. We had her diagnosis after bloods were taken in less than 24 hours
