Can't thank the staff enough for the compassionate care we received through the hardest decision I've ever made in my life. All the staff were very helpful and sympathetic and supported us throughout. Thank you again

Avoid taking your pets here at all cost if you want them to live a healthy life. Our dog had a lump thing on his ear, can't remember what the vets called it but it started at that. Then they kept diagnosing him with literally everything in the book. After all that was over they gave him two bottles of a very strong medication. One had 150g and the other had 200g in it. They told us to give him two instead of one a day. Aswell as this they'd prescribed him some steroids. Before we gave him the tablets, he actually seemed to be getting better. He then started throwing up and collapsed. We took him to a different veterinary clinic and he died peacefully there. From the looks of it, he died of an overdose.

Initially, we spotted a lump on the side of our staffys face.
We took her into the Hackenthorpe Branch on a Saturday morning, as an emergency. Turned out, she had a mast cell which needed removing , not immediately but definitely within the next couple months. She had a biopsy taken and came away from the surgery, a little worse for wear and the cost was £333!
We then booked her in for the 30 min op.
The first estimate we received was £442. We then received a second estimate £755. I rang them to question this and was advised that a lot of the items needed for surgery had been missed off.
We received the consent form the day before the op, with another estimate. This time it was from £755 up to £900. Needless to say, we cancelled the op and will look into booking elsewhere.
It makes you wonder with costs like these, why there is so much neglect. Why are vets so greedy with their prices?
I’m sorry but you have now lost a customer.

Excellent practice, I have had nothing but 100% care and consideration everytime I have had to bring my dog in for various reasons be it operations ,emergency care or just a phone call if I've needed advice. I travel a distance to come to the practice and wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

Appalling surgery, kicked my dog off the books because we hadn't had a visit recently (didn't even have the courtesy to inform me!) Not going to take my dog for a visit unnecessarily just to stay registered! Thank god it was only to book his annual jabs in when I found out and not that he was actually unwell as we wouldn't have been able to book with them....do yourselves a favour and register with a surgery that puts animals first...not how many times you visit!

The care that me and my two cats received today for routine health checks and vaccinations is probably the best we've ever had. Di on reception was friendly, funny and very considerate. Olivia, the vet, was incredible. She was thoughtful and took time to cover all bases, questions and concerns. She was very charismatic and I really got the sense that she loves her job and cares deeply for her patients. She made some recommendations about preventative care too that were very much appreciated. Based on this and my one previous visit, I cannot rate this surgery highly enough.

I’ve been going to this vet for over 14 years now, and although over the years it’s changed quite a bit, I feel I trust the, especially Lauren. She suggested I take my little man to the Hospital in Darby a few years ago as she suspected he may have cancer.
She was right. He had an operation, and it gave us another couple of years with him, which I will be forever grateful.
I know the prices have gone up, but to be honest, I don’t really care, it’s worth it. I trust my pets are getting the best treatment. Unless that changes, I’ll be staying with Crookes.
