Shannon Lodge Veterinary Surgery - Sutton-in-Ashfield

This veterinary practice is absolutely amazing. My precious little dog would not be here today if I had listened to the advice of another vets not to far away in Sutton. Nothing is too much trouble and
all the staff are so supportive and obviously care very much about their clients (with fur and without!) I would never go anywhere else and have recommended them to all my friends and family. Amazing ☺️

Always get a quick appointment which is important. Very covid safe would highly recommend. Staff are all very nice and have time to explain things. Trust them completely with my fur babies. Xx

Unfortunately I had to euthanize my much loved springer spaniel Jack who was 12 due to kidney failure the vet at Shannon was very professional and helpfull he carried out blood tests to diagnose the problem with Jack he was very kind and understanding and gave me the right advice to prevent my dog from any suffering thank you very much for helping me and Jack at the end 👍

They were very helpful and compassionate whe we lost our Ted Teddy boy even though they dried so much to save him thankyou xx

I've been with Shannon Lodge veterinary practice for years but the care my dog received this week has been poor. He's got 4 sore legs from being shaved with what must have been a blunt razor. Puncture marks from several attempts at cannulation. Was given false information at the start, over charged and the out of hours vets is absolutely shameful. 40 minutes away at Priory vets Beeston. If an animal needs emergency care as my previous dog did then a 40 minute drive is totally unacceptable. No excuses!

Not so good I'm afraid. One gripe is that you are allowed now in the waiting room ( 3 only which is fair) the vet comes to you for a consultation ( so up close with masks on) but then your not allowed in with your dog ???? Which I don't understand. I like to be with my dog when being examined . If your going to catch covid then you would with the vet in the waiting room wouldn't you.

This veterinary business uses an emergency vets at Beeston , not easy to get to and shows the general lack of empathy they have for pets and owners . In situations where pets lives matter a 40 minute drive isn't adequate especially when there is a 24 hour practice in Alfreton . Our pet and ourselves ended up stressed up beyond belief , our pet passed away and I will not be using this practice again . I will select a veterinarian who has a more realistic emergency service than Shannon lodge and I'd suggest that people should look into this when selecting a practice. Shame on you for using such an unrealistic out of hours service , clearly it's a business first .

Extremely disappointed. Arranged vaccination for our Pup, discussed previous vaccination beforehand with them, told 2nd vaccination would be compatible, only to be told at appointment 2nd vaccination was not compatible. Wasted our time. Had to start with all vaccinations again (at a different Vets) due to their incompetence and at a greater cost to ourselves. Would NOT recommend Shannon Lodge.
