The Portland Hotel - JD Wetherspoon

It's a Spoons establishment so to a large extent you know what your going to get. There's no denying the value of the food and drink (unlimited hot drinks). The big breakfast I had today was really quite good especially for the price. Staff helpful and the place was clean enough although toilets a little down on Wetherspoons usual standards.

Went to the Portland for a meal on a busy Saturday night. We were served immediately by a friendly, helpful young barman. Our meal was brought to us piping hot by another cheerful and efficient young man. Lovely meal, lovely pint, lovely people in a lovely pub. Highly recommended

Tables outside dirty and full of empty glasses. Ordered our alcohol on app 2 Pitchers and 1 large one. Waited 15 minutes still haven’t brought our order so had to ask a member of staff. He bought us 3 normal pitchers we brought that to the waiters attention that we were expecting one to be large and he just said it had double the alcohol. No it didn’t. Usually go to Spa Lane lot better service than Portland

Had a lovely meal here service was perfect all staff were friendly and our meals were served not long after order with a smile!
All in all a friendly welcoming atmosphere will definitely be back!

Great room friendly staff would highly recommend.
However the breakfast was lacking as they had no sauces and apparently none had been sent for a few days.
That apart brilliant place to stay right in the middle of Chesterfield

Stayed here 1 night for an early start in Chesterfield. Room was lovely & clean & the staff were really lovely & helpful. I managed to leave my medication behind but a member of staff rang me straight away & avoided a calamitous start to my holiday. Thank you

Went for breakfast and hot/cold drinks.
Guy behind bar was rude, I told him my glass had an obvious lipstick mark on it he huffed, rolled his eyes then changed it but slammed the glass in front of me!! Really put me off. Waitress was nice and polite, food was OK.
Guy behind bar has put me off,won't be going again

Lovely hotel/bar. Spotless. Very well decorated. Staff friendly and excellent service. Bed was so comfy.Rainfall shower fab.
