The are doing fantastic Caribbean food with Ales to takeway from a funky trailer in the carpark. The jerk chicken is out of this world, fill your boots!

This pub has a lot of potential to be a great, little place for the family to enjoy. It is not very big inside, but has a nice garden. We recently dined there as a group of seven, and had an evening meal. The standard of the food was variable. My cod and chips was nice but my daughter's vegetarian choice was poor. It was supposed to be lasagna but this had been substituted for aubergine. Despite some of the dishes not being up to standard on the evening, it was a relaxing and comfortable place to spend a few hours.

Great Sunday lunch experience. The ladies serving were patient, helpful, very friendly and very efficient during a busy session with demanding customers. The food was excellent including great varied roasts and, although we were lucky with sunshine in a good garden, the interior looked really cozy too.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Excellent welcoming pub with a great range of beers, wines and spirits, all reasonably priced starting at £4 a pint. Place is clean and tidy, already the new landlord is putting his stamp on things, looking forward to the relaunch of the food menu later on this month but in the meantime it's a great place for a convivial pint and a chat.

Really pleased the Golden Eagle is open under new management. This lovely village pub has been given a new lease of life. Good value beer prices and a new menu coming this month. The Eagle has struggled over the past couple of years, not helped by the pandemic, but the future is bright 😄

Difficult to rate properly as the Thursday lunchtime we visited there was no one to cook and the kitchen was closed, this being 1pm.
Actually the young man serving seemed to be the only staff around. The pub was empty apart from the three of us, which was sad but we stayed for one drink and the beer was ok.
We understand it as recently changed hands so hopefully things will pick up, in times past I remember it being very popular with locals and visitors alike, we'll try again when we're in the area again as the menu looked promising but needs effort from all concerned if its going to be successful

A very nice old pub pleasant garden, staff very friendly and helpful, nice selection of beers, can't comment on food I didn't have any but beer prices were expensive almost £10 for two pints one being a Lagar shandy extortionate! Minimum price for a pint £4.50 plus I won't be going there again in a hurry, a shame as its such a nice old pub and I've been there in the past many times.
