This venue used to be good but unfortunately there is a very aggressive manager there now who certainly does not have any people skills. It is amazing that this person would have been employed as manager. Having complained to head office about how badly this manager handles customers I still have not heard back from them coming up for two weeks so it appears that they really do not care either about customer relations.
I have been running Contact Singles for 21 years now and have never, ever been treated so badly as I was on August 8th for our last event.I should add that I have never posted a bad review about a venue before in all these years so this should tell you how bad our experience was.

Beer choice limited to standard fayre. My main issue was service. Place is reasonably quiet with 2 people serving. I was next in line but when the one barmaid finished with her customer, she was more bothered about her phone. She took it out of her pocket, turned to the back of the bar and started looking at it. I was clearly waiting to be served and it took another member of staff to ask a girl who had just finished shift to serve me. If you are at work, leave your phone alone. Thank you for the girl who finished her shift and the one serving another customer for acknowledging me, but for the phone user, get a job away from a bar. You alone have given this rating as below par.

A big pub. Crowdy in some days, but empty at least in this Monday. Beer selection... Only two ales. The usual suspects. Food, Better than average pub. Ceaser sandwich okay, same with the burger and fish & chips. Friendly service.

The management & staff really did a great job during a very busy World Cup. Always friendly towards us & made sure the atmosphere was very good during the England games we watched there. Well done Guys... Shame I had to cancel my table for the Final. Keep up the good work...

Whilst quiet in a Tuesday, the food was delicious. I had the fish finger burger which was freshly battered and the chips were amazing. Prices are standard for the area although the seating needs a massive overhaul.

Place was dead at 10pm. House red was absolute rubbish. Complained to bartender. She said if I wanted to upgrade it I needed to pay again!!
I asked for the manager. The bar tender shrugged shoulders and claimed, that’s me! Don’t believe it after such poor customer service.
Don’t bother with this place, there are too many OTHER good bars!!

Although my famous grouse whisky was standard, the atmosphere was totally ruined by listening to the coffee machine, loudly, cleaning itself for half an hour. Why on earth does the owner thing think this should be on MY time?!

Great bar with good vibes. Good spot for a Thursday night. Also good food - we ordered one of the sharer platters and it was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Great bar just off of Baker Street, newly refurbished too and with some delicious pizzas and new cocktails. Highly recommend.
