Great traditional pub, lovely food, friendly service & a car park, what's more to want?

One of the nicest places we have ever been.

Booked a table over the phone for 4 adults, 1 dog and a 2 month old 30 min before arriving.

Couldn't fault a single thing. The food was lovely even a small meal and water for our dog. We were well taken care of.

Thank you so much :)

We went on a whim because we heard music. Wow, what a good whim that was! The band was delightful, infectious party vibe - we could not stop dancing! The pub itself was welcoming and so friendly. Just the best afternoon we've spent as a family all year!

We had a gathering for 8 adults and 6 children in the side room. Good for children but a bit Dark. The roast dinner was not the best. Served up nicely but the roast potatoes were pale and there was not much meat.
The service staff were lovely and helpful. The rest of the pub looked great

Great traditional pub with roaring fire and dog friendly. It feels a bit as if no-one is in charge or keeping an eye on the fine details though. Staff pretty scruffy (stained sweatshirts etc), food pleasant but at times disappointing (calamari) and booking process a bit hit and miss. Oodles of potential and great for laid back vibe.

After a long wet rainy walk we were very welcomed into the rose and crown me being worried about my 16 month being loud and running around we were given the snug area which was perfect for us and there was a nice warm fire to warm up and dry our boots and coats. First successful trip out as a family of 5.

Always 2 or 3 real ales available. Varied food menu offered but advisable to book for Sunday lunch.

Went in for a quick drink. OK was hoping for a real fire but unfortunately not that night. Looks a bit shabby but that might of been because it was dark. But would go back and try again.
