The North Star

Great service from really friendly staff. We used the app to order and was shocked at how fast service was.
Quiz was good fun.
But...
The glasses were filthy, we cleaned them ourselves because lipstick marks were left around the rim.
The tables were also very grubby and sticky, cleaned them ourselves.

Overall though, I did enjoy our visit and will be back as the service was lovely.

Great pub, lovely staff and yummy food. I belong to a local running club who meet here on a Thursday evening and we are always get a warm greeting and a cold beer after! Great offers on the app also. Keep up the good work!

The atmosphere of this pub is nice, however drinks are made really unevenly (could get a really strong cocktail one time and really weak another), food is more often than not out of stock, and tables are always sticky.

However most annoyingly, during the quiz there are teams who blatantly cheat (have phones flat on table with answers displayed on screen, and even use Shazam on music rounds) and quiz runner does absolutely nothing about it. She might shout “no phones!” once but this doesn’t stop them. This makes it unfair for everyone when one team ruins it to win, especially since there’s no prize for winning. Rules need to be enforced more to make it a challenge.

I've always rather liked the North Star - it's nothing fancy but it's comfortable, friendly service and good value for money especially for London. The food is good though I do wish there was one or two more interesting ciders as the choice is very limited on that. Plenty of parking and very convenient for the bus stop.

Amazing atmosphere, the food was terrific! All the team were accommodating and polite, really friendly. 100% would recommend the pub to others! Can’t wait to go again!

Really disappointed with my recent visit. It was a quiz night so all the tables were reserved. We shared a table with a friend. You could only order the food displayed on the printed menus/sheet if A4 paper on the table, which we did. However we were charged more than than the prices listed. We challenged this at the bar and was told that the prices were incorrect! No refund was offered. The food was just ok. The table was sticky and the glasses were not collected for several hours. The staff were all stressed but very nice. The whole pub certainly needs a refurb. Such a shame as was always a lovely pub.

I have always had good food here and its great value , but new years day they really excelled themselves. We had a full English breakfast which was really good, and the 2 young lads serving couldn't have been more helpful , so polite and friendly ,hats off to them !
So pleased we are lucky enough to have such a lovely local pub like this. 👍

Staff lovely stools and toilets absolutely disgusting. The material stools have ripped material hanging off with all the foam showing and there are quite a few of them. Really dirty Need to be replaced. Men’s toilet is revolting and smells but apparently this is to do with the fact that the main is level and doesn’t slope ? Such a shame because it is our local pub and we would love to bring friend here but “ the stools yuk “
