Yews

Seated in the dining room which was empty when we arrived, just 2 of us. Was very very very quiet in said dining room. Our waitress was lovely, very polite, and professional.
We was then joined bye a large family, with children, which is fine but....
Would of liked maybe some back ground music, for more of an atmosphere, as spent the rest of our meal feeling like we had to whisper because we could hear everything the larger family was talking about.
Food was very nice. Would visit again but ask to be seated somewhere else, personal preference.

First time back here in 23 years after moving from Great Glen to Milton Keynes in 99. Staff very friendly, and food cooked perfectly. It was nice to come back home, thank you. 😊

We booked two tables here this week as we were assisting our daughter and her friends (all with learning disabilities) on a double date. They wanted to go out for a meal together as a foursome but needed some support. On arrival I spoke to Ruth and explained the two tables. She was amazing. We sat in one room and our daughter sat in another. Ruth helped them and treated them all with respect and dignity. Hannah took over from Ruth and our daughter and friends had a fabulous night. We also had a lovely night and meal, knowing we could relax and let the staff look after our daughter and friends. The landlady was also amazing. We all left the pub satisfied, having eaten good food but more importantly, with joy in our hearts. The care, compassion and understanding of the staff is worthy of such a fabulous review! We had a great family meal last night. Delicious food and excellent real ale. Good value too! Clean and friendly with a mouthwatering menu selection. Thanks to our server Lottie and the rest of the team who were all cheerful and attentive. Well done!

Visited Wed, 31 Aug 2022 for lunch as it was our 30th wedding anniversary the whole experience was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Our meals were of good quality, sufficient in portion size and extremely excellent value. Staff very attentive and place was clean and tidy. Great atmosphere. We will be back. So pleased we rediscovered the Yews after 18 years of being away.

Great food and great food! Authentic English village pub, great atmosphere and very comfortable interior.

We were seated in a nice restaurant area (table of 4) and had plenty of room and comfort - the food was brilliant and great portion sizes, the desserts were plentiful and the banana ice cream was very nice !

Friendly welcoming staff with a good atmosphere!

Service was really lovely but unfortunately quite slow given they were understaffed - appreciate this isn't the fault of the bar staff. Hopefully they will manage during the Christmas period.

Loved the mushroom & ale pie. I'm not a vegetarian but I think there were lots of great veggie options to choose from which is excellent given how climate change is affecting consumer choices. Had a wide variety of ice cream choices for pudding as well.

Interesting choice of specials such as boar burger, venison and ravioli. If you want a meat special though it's best to book in early as the venison sold out. My sister was fortunate enough to get the last one.
