Very average dinner. I’ve definitely had better fish at other pubs in the area. Small portions and dry. Service not fast and not the friendliest or welcoming. Burgers not bad. Deserts the highlight of the meal. Cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately not a pub I’d pick to go back to in a hurry.

Below average meal for above average prices.
Strange atmosphere!
Was looking forward to steak pie and homemade mash.lots of tasty Garvey in pie but not much meat.mash potato was like a lump of microwave smash.2 thin stems of broccoli,3 slices of carrots and about 10 peas.very disappointed.offered a pudding for free but didn’t want to risk anymore disappointment!
Wine wasn’t much better!
Won’t be going back

I went for dinner with family a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening at 7pm, having booked via open table link through the website. It was not busy at all. We sat outside in the garden, which has about 8 tables. There were a few wasps around as it was a hot day and they are attracted to the drinks, but it was fine. Nice Korean chicken starter and I had a seafood grill which was salmon sea bass and a few prawns grilled simply and it was very tasty with potatoes and salad. Others had cod and chips or the gammon and pineapple with chips which were all good portions and tasty food. Soft drinks are expensive here but food reasonably priced. Recommended.

The brunch was just perfect! Delicate, light jet richly tasted French toast was just a pure pleasure for the taste buds. Also Granola and Poached Eggs on avocado was just perfect! We had such a great experience that we came for another round the next day! Highly recommended for leisurely weekend mornings!
P.s. Brunch is on weekends from 9:30-11:30

Sunday lunch with family members to celebrate birthdays. Food , service etc good. We were in a room with 2 other tables, both brought dogs with them. We should have been asked if we were OK with this. A family member was allergic to animals but thankfully was fine.

Went last night for a family dinner out. Pub wasn’t overly busy when we arrived and we were shown straight to the table. My backside had barely touched the chair when the young waiter was trying to take the drinks order. After that, the service was decidedly average and given how quiet it was, quite slow (nearly 3 hours for 3 courses). The starters were tasty but overpriced for what you got and the mains were decidedly average. The veg had been boiled way too long.

Perhaps I had high hopes given the look of the pub but perhaps I should be realistic and accept that if you can spend Tesco vouchers there, the food isn’t going to be top notch.

Pub is a really lovely quaint establishment. Friendly, efficient service with a variety of amazing roast dinners (very good portion size!). Our server Louise, was always on hand for any questions and made our teenager feel welcome. Would highly recommend visiting Five Horseshoes.
