The food was absolutely delicious. My cod was yummy and quite a big piece. Food was hot. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Went back again with my friend. Will definitely be going back. Lovely big garden to sit out and eat too.

Really nice pub to sit out in the beer garden and enjoy a Sunday roast. Very friendly staff working lunchtime today. Had a delicious roast turkey - although the mashed potato was pretty revolting, the homemade Yorkshire pudding made up for this. Reasonably priced and good service.

A group of us stayed here while working nearby. The team were absolutely brilliant in ensuring we had a table for dinner each night and that the food was outstanding every time.
The hotel itself is a bit tired , exceptionally clean and comfy, but could do with updating. However, the welcoming staff and overall experience makes up for that.
We’ll be back next year.

We stayed here with large group of family from Wednesday to Sunday when we arrive to hotel they at first didn't want to accommodate us for dinner but did in the end we said we would book for dinner early next morning for that night they said no they are booked up but gave us a name of sister hotel down the rd we did eat at that but I thought it so bad that your staying at hotel and they can't accommodate their own guess for dinner
Breakfast was very slow we had to leave at 8 every morning and we told hotel this 7 it started and we're waiting 20 to be served and even if you were first in the room other guess got serve first. Others in our group were staying at premier Inn they let us get breakfast there 2 days and wave our coach goodbye they were lovely and we weren't even staying there.
The bed were very small we pushed single bed up to have more room and were not big people , bed not made by staff any day we were there towel not changed but folded each day and put back on bar so husband and myself had to use each other towel which we would never do at home . They place looks lovely food we had on first day lovely but made us feel we were imposing on them not welcoming at all I'll never us this hotel again and group we booked with won't also.

A really comfortable room with 4 poster bed and huge bathroom. The food was good and the service was first class. Overall, although some areas look a bit tired, we enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend.

A disappointing stay, the room was the main problem. The hotel is very old, so I was willing to make some allowances but some things you can't forgive. See the photos of the windows and bathroom. It needs some fixing up! The staff, service and food are all very good. What you'd expect from the Greene King chain.

Hotel needs a update but apart from that the place is lovely. You couldn't feel more welcomed. The staff were above and beyond helpful. The breakfast and dinner 🍴 was amazing. Will be going back very soon. Thanks guys for taking care of us so well. Xx

The Hotel is lovely and charming. The food has been better. The chocolate fudge cake used to be the best I ever tried. A shame they stopped serving it recently. I can’t review on rooms as I haven’t stayed. It’s a place I like to go back to. I hope the food gets back to as good as it used to be when the Gentleman was the manager.
