A great pub to visit whether you are popping in for a drink or some food.

There is a good selection of ales/beers/cider and the menu has something for most tastes. Although the menu stated allergens, it would of been helpful if the menu indicated which items could of been made gluten free, however the staff were very helpful when asked. We had 2 meals and drinks here (2 adults (one gluten free vagan) and 2 older children).

If you are a whiskey lover then there is a HUGE selection to try.

The pubs has a few little rooms with a nice cozy traditional pub/restaurant atmosphere.

Lovely pub. I recommend booking as it is near the National trust camp site so it could get quite busy.

Food is very good. Try the beef pie. It’s a proper pie! Not a casserole with a lid.

I took my 6 year old son and he was well looked after. Good children’s options.

Hearty deserts available too. Bread and butter pudding, crumble etc.

Wide selection of local beers available and good service.

One slight criticism, in the dining room it is a little quiet. It could do with some low level music and the big lights turning down a little maybe some smaller side lights would help.

Overall great would visit again.

We've been to this quintessential Lake Land Inn many times over the past 15yrs. We took our wedding 'Blessing' guests there after being at the stunning St. Catherine's Church nearby in 2017.

The atmosphere, staff, food and rooms, are always brilliant as you enter a 'real' Inn, in my favourite place, worldwide - The Western Lake District.

Surrounded by the usual stunning views, summer, autumn, winter or spring, this place is such a great and welcoming place.

We have eaten here a few times now, over a number of years, and are never disappointed. The food is absolutely delectable. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would strongly recommend. Also love that they are dog friendly.

Great local pub, lovely atmosphere and really friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, many traditional 'pub' style dishes but at restaurant quality but with pub prices!
This place also has its own whiskey list with 180 whisky's!
I ate there most nights for a week whilst camping locally. Would definitely recommend this pub, whether for a pint or dinner. Make sure you book, even for 1 person as they do get very busy. Thanks again to all the staff for making my trip so special, hopefully be back!

We only came for food. And then we came again. And again. The food is absolutely yummy. We had both meat and vegetarian options each time and all courses have been great. Today I can't stop thinking about the tomato chutney 🙂 plus dog friendly place. And kid friendly with some board games. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the village and so this is one of two place in the village offering food as well as accommodation, the staff are friendly and welcoming.
We had two meals here and couldn’t fault the food, we had the Steak and beer pie and a Sunday roast. We were not disappointed with our choices. Sunday evening was quiz night which is free to enter and they served sandwiches during the quiz.
There is a good choice of draft beers and a good wine list.
Definitely recommend a visit

Lush pub, really friendly staff and delicious food.
Wanted to try all the specials, there was a lots of good choice, and they had local stuff on tap. Lovely views from the front.
The scallops in particular were amazing and very reasonably priced given how many you got!
