Stayed here the night before climbing Scafell Pike. The room and bathroom were a good size and very clean. There is no lift but there are two sets of stairs, one close to the back car park and the other at the front. We had dinner and breakfast and both were lovely and there was a great choice. Staff were all very friendly.

Absolutely amazing!! The food, atmosphere and especially the service is truly outstanding. We were a party of 10 including 4 young children and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well cared for. Thanks so much to Warwick and the team. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Lovely pub, with even nicer food.
Having stayed here many years ago, when we were camping in the area we decided to eat here for tea, and really enjoyed it. So much so we went back the next night.
The food was great, and the staff brilliantly friendly.
A+++

Popped in on our way back from a day out for a meal. Dog friendly, a nice welcome very good menu, GF and very helpful with any other food problems. Didn't have to wait long, food plenty and delicious. Many thanks for a lovely end to a full day.

Food was great, huge portions but so tasty. If you want a hearty good value meal then you will not be disappointed. Another huge plus was that they are dog friendly too

Had popped in earlier in week for drink and staff were so welcoming, so we booked in for a meal a few nights later. Food was good and reasonably priced, we had selection of chicken Katsu Ale pie Cumberland sausage and a Pizza with a good selection of vegetables and home made chips. The only down side was the bar man was very abrupt in his manner and unwelcoming on this occasion…. May of been having an off day but did spoil the experience a little.

Didn't stay in the rooms, but we went for dinner in the evening. Was surprisingly busy, luckily we had reserved a table. Cozy atmosphere with a coal fire, and dog friendly. Decent food, but the desserts were a little disappointing, I think we found the portions a bit big. All in all a nice evening out, I reccomend!
