Cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food is absolutely incredible. Luxury pub grub at reasonable prices! What a great place.

Set in the beautiful square in Usk so popped in after a visit to the castle. Staff really friendly and food was excellent. I had chickpea and cauliflower curry with nan bread which was hot, spicy and tremendously tasty. Although the place could do with a little TLC, the staff, atmosphere and quality of food more than make up for this. If you want a traditional village pub with great food I highly recommend it, if you want a modern minimalist pub then go elsewhere.

We would come back to Usk just to eat here. Lovely, cosy, homely pub yet also very traditional and stylish. Beautiful, striking artwork. Friendly, welcoming staff. Food was unbelievable, good portions, great value, food cooked to perfection. Good menu selection. Worth booking, couldn't recommend any higher.

We stopped around 6:30 pm on the way home from a holiday in Cardigan. The Nags Head seems pretty old and reminded us of how cozy and comfortable pubs used to be before the beige designers took over. After a week's holiday where "vegetables" meant a tired salad on a warm plate, it was a delight! Rabbit pie, with swede and broccoli - oh my. And so many ways of serving potatoes we couldn't make our minds up. No wonder this is one of Wales Online's Best Food Pubs, 2022.

Called in for lunch, a good menu to suit all. Great service and very friendly helpful staff. I had the steak and ale pie which came with a choice of potatoes and vegetables. I would definitely recommend.

Well keep beers, reasonable wine selection and excellent food. It was very busy but the owners and staff kept a beady eye on everything so the service was always there when you needed it. Spot on. Thanks for making sure you survived against all the odds.

We received a lovely welcome from the staff who looked after us and our dog really well. The food was good proper country pub food with a wide choice available.

I really enjoyed the duck and I was given a choice of sauces despite the menu not showing it as I'm not a fan of orange-based sauces regardless of the traditional pairing. This shows an attentive staff member and a flexible kitchen. My partner had the gammon which looked amazing.

Lunch for 4 adults, three under five and a baby. Great traditional pub with a cosy atmosphere. Kids portions were huge so the adults ate very well! Separate back room and booths at the front give privacy and save others from the noise of our kids. We’ll be back next weekend.
