Despite its slightly shabby exterior the staff are very pleasant and attentive. The menu is extensive so plenty to choose from. The beef curry came with plenty of beef and rice with a large poppadom. The Thai chicken again was full of meat and vegetables, all very filling. The pizza's are large and tasty, a box for leftovers is offered. A satisfying meal with real ale at a good price. One worth stopping at if passing.

Arrived without booking. Too early to eat but able to have a drink whilst waiting. Menu surprisingly good for a vegetarian. Had fish-less fish of halloumi in batter with chips and garden peas. Best halloumi I've ever had. Waitress so welcoming and pleasant.

Not great service but friendly staff, slow service and the food was not great, mine was mixed grill too salty. Others we dissatisfied with food lacking flavour. Spends too much time making quirky gimmicks like hollowed out chips gammon looking like fingers. When you don’t nail flavours forget gimmicks you don’t succeed with flavour.

We ordered a pizza and dirty fries from here whilst on holiday. I have to say it was some of the best food we have ever had. We have travelled a lot and ordered food from many places and this is by far the best. I cant rate this place highly enough. Yes it looks a little run down from the outside but I would rather it look like this and the food and service be first class which it is. The staff are welcoming friendly and attentive. Not sure you could ask for more. Thank you

Proper country pub. Excellent sunday roast. Covered outdoor seating, cheerful pleasant staff.
A better choice of alcohol free beers would have been good as we don't all drink lager. (Eeeeeeugh!)

Stopped for a lunchtime sandwich. "Farmhouse cheddar". I wrote a uncomplimentary review, not about the friendly service, not about the presentation, but about the quality of the ingredients. It matters, - it’s the main thing that matters. Because I received a reply (thank you), I have edited this now and have added a star to my previous. The beer was nice though.

Really lovely fish n chips, excellent value and a very warm welcome from Ellie, who was kind enough to give our dog a bowl of water. A proper pub- super.
