Group of 13 family meal on Eid day. Restaurant was very accommodating with friendly staff.
Starters we ordered 36 wings with mixed flavours of smoky BBQ and Dynamite. The chicken wings were falling off the bone and it was a very good start. BBQ flavour was ok not the best and the dynamite flavour was nice and spicy. The chicken wings cooking was on point and made up for any let down on the flavour.
Beef ribs ordered to try out and was enjoyed overall.
The main course we ordered sirloin and rib eye steak with various sides including sweet potato fries, mash, chunky chips.
Steak was of small size and of low quality, taste was not there and that was a real shame.
Mash was a complete write off. Tasted boiled with no seasoning.
Everything else was standard.
The prices where a bit high in relation to location, venue and quality of food.
Overall it was ok, didn't leave hungry.
In my view everyone is now adding steak to the menu and they think it's a slab of meat cooked on a grill. Failing to realise the cookery is a real skill, takes practice and finesse to pull off a great tasting steak with great texture and to it consistently. You cant fake it until you make it as the difference is night and day. I say stick to what you are good at and thrive.
Too far to go back again. If passing by, may try a burger.
Have been back a couple of times recently July & Aug 2019 and been very impressed with service - friendly and attentive. Would now give 5 stars - great little local restaurant.
We are regulars to the Amersham outlet but this time we visited Watford.
As mentioned top notch as always however some improvement is needed with the shakes.
One of the staff was making the portions of chips, another staff is telling him that he was putting too much.
The same thing happened with the sauces.
It ended up being a very small portion for £3/£4 and the pot of sauce was not even enough to finish those chips.
When I commented about this, the staff said they won't make any profit.
Secondly, I called up an hour before and asked how long 7 burgers would take and was told it would be 10-15 minutes.
I arrived 20 minutes later and then waited another 20 minutes for the burgers, so that 10-15 turned into nearly 45 minutes. Probably because I could see them in their very open kitchen that they were putting the burgers on the grill one at a time, and then didn't put the chips in the fryer till all the burgers were done.
It wasn't very busy at the time so they should have done better.
One of the staff was great but this branch really needs some direction from head office about how to manage the shop better.
The burgers were nice and good quality.
Little bit cold.
The chips were cold when we got them.
They said 20 minutes wait for the food. Ended up being closer to 40 minutes.
Overall good food. But quality and Efficiency in the service needs to improve.
The milkshake was nice and thick. But the straws were so thin . The milkshake barely comes through it
Very kind and friendly staff.
