Went to this branch for a statement to be stamped out. The branch is tidey, clean and bright. Apart from being waiting for half an hour until 9:30 for it to open (while all other banks already startes from 9), the reception lady/standing in the lobby, told me that no Barclays branches in the national are offering bank statements to be printed out! I said i really need this as it is for embassy visa application and I don't want to miss my appointment, if there is anything you can do I will be appreciated. And she went on and push me, 'I'm so sorry but you can try with other branches as this is the rule started from Jan 2022 from Barclays, I'm sorry'.. She has put me away with huge disappointment and stress if my embassy appointment would be successful for the whole day...
I was even thinking leaving Barclays and moving to HSBC/Lolyds, I found another branch in Birmingham which offers statement printing and stamp services!!! I have also asked the branch lobby manager if above script from London branch is true. He said 'never heard of such..'
Well, shame of you, London? Or maybe just this branch...
For example, you might go to a convenient branch to register a power of attorney. But it turns out you can't do that without making an appointment with a personal banker, but that branch doesn't have personal bankers.
So you decide to call a different branch that you know is larger. But you can't call the branch directly. Instead you waste 15 minutes on the phone while someone finds no available appointments at all at that branch or any nearby one.
So you go in person to the larger branch, optimistic that a real human can maybe help. But the real human explains that they've closed so many other branches that the remaining ones book up really quickly and the first available appointment is three weeks away.
You've spent more staff time trying to make an appointment than it would have taken to do the thing you want to do there and then.
First thing first lots of people working there but for some reason they are very extremely slow
I had an issue with my current account and was seen by personal banker after waiting for over an hour ,and as it turns out the guy was utterly useless and couldn’t even answer a lot of questions that i had about my problem
And the branch manager wasn’t even better because even he couldn’t answer to why my issues happened And I would say borderline rude as well
I’m thinking of closing my account and going to a going to a different bank at this point
And if you got any problems with your account this branch is definitely last place you should go for help
Or even better go to another bank forget about Barclay bank they don’t deserve your business
I will delete this review as soon as it stops investing in fossil fuels for good
