Had an appointment booked to start a new account, but apparently the system was “down”, so 2 guys that I talked to said go somewhere else or come back another day, I said I wanted to have the appointment I had booked and speak with a banker, after 4 times running back and forth between me and the banker I was supposed to meet with the guy told me there is no chance they can help me today. I asked why, and why all the computers looked like they were working and why everyone else was getting help, he said the computer of the banker I was meeting didn’t work, so from saying that no computers work to changing and saying that there only was a problem with one computer. I asked 2 different people to see someone else who’s computer worked and after 15 min I was talking with a female banker, she was the only one nice to me in there but she couldn’t help me either, she said I didn’t have enough proof of address and that I had to get more and come back. I literally started crying and left, went straight to natwest and got help setting up an account.

Don’t go here it’s horrible, this is where costumer service comes to die!

I have always found the staff polite and helpful who do their best working in a branch that must test their patience as well as ours as to be honest every time I go to the branch if 2 machines are working it's a miracle most of the time only 1 seems to be working and the waiting time reflects this. I use city road as I know as soon as I walk through the door 3 cashier's will be waiting for me not 4 machines that don't work. So only 1 star from me ..... Just want to point out 7 months on when using Barclays app it still says my non rooted phone is rooted and I can NOT use the app which I used just fine till Barclays started f*****g about with it and they still have not fixed the problem

I visited this branch for the first time in order to open ISA account. I was very impressed with warm service that I received.
The lady supporting people on the floor was very helpful. I came close to the closing time, but she spoke to her colleague for him to see me, she spoke to many people waiting to assess if their purposes of visit will affect my chances to be seen. She seemed to genuinely care.
The gentleman who helped me to open ISA was fantastic too. He was efficient, but also very nice. He answered all my questions patiently. I was particularly impressed because it was the last day opening this particular ISA account and I knew they were very busy. I asked the gentleman and he said he did not have time for lunch due to busy day. I was touched that despite of all of that he was so pleasant
Fantastic staff!

Only one teller to handle customers while 3+ employees cannot help with the long line, completely wasting everyone's time. Going to the bank is already an annoying chore but going to the bank and not getting what you need done is a new level of awful bank experience.

Awful service. Tried to call the bank numerous times about an upcoming appointment and they never answered. Left a voicemail and my number every time and never hear back from them. Attempted to go into the branch and the people were there were rude and dismissive telling me I should have come in to cancel the appointment as they never check their voicemails!

Disgraceful service so I decided to bank with Tide Bank instead.

Avoid the Mare street branch. Incompetent and lazy staff. Cashiers going on lunch during the most busiest periods. Will not allow NHS staff to go ahead of the que. Please do question why this branch has the highest waiting times. If you value your time, avoid this branch.

Today 12/04/21 I had a very bad experience in this branch.
We three people were in the queue.
An African lady came and asked me “are you in the queue”? I replied to her yes.
Meanwhile, the guy opened the door and took her inside didn’t bother the queue because the lady was his own person.
I have raised my voice because it wasn’t fair. I got late for work. I wanted to make a formal complaint but I realised all the staff same manager even didn’t bother me. Only one Asian girl was professional. For moments I felt I’m not in England because no rules and regulations.
The black guy called me lier. See ! How unprofessional is that branch.
Anyone tell me how to make a formal complaint against the branch please?
Thank you

The staff are helpful, but Barclays is funding the climate emergency. Between 2016 and 2018, Barclays provided $85 billion in funding to fossil fuel companies. Have an account with Barclays? It's time to switch to an ethical bank. Google Sharklays for the facts.
