Barclays Bank

I have always had great experiences with this Barclays branch. They have multiple self service machines and helpful staff on hand for any questions or issues.

Unfortunately their self servic machines no longer accept coins, I came in with a large jar to deposit. One of the staff graciously helped me sort it all into seperatd baggies and ensured that I was able to deposit them into my account. I was blown away by the kindness shown by that employee, especially since normally you would be given the baggies and asked to come back.

Barclays in Bury Saint Edmunds has very friendly happy staff, it's a pleasure to go into this Branch.
I have been a customer at Barclays Bank since the Seventies, with 14 years at the Bury Saint Edmunds Branch. I'd like to mention one of the staff, Lisa Staines.
It's always a pleasure and never a chore for Lisa to handle our account !

Best to use Lloyd’s or some other bank. Many of the bankers give off an aura that they’re annoyed with you or look down their nose at you.

Additionally, the competence level after several interactions is left wanting.

Not an enjoyable banking experience.

So hard to do business with. They have shut all the branches forcing you to have to go into town centre. Arrive at stated opening time (9.30) and despite plenty of staff about they don't bother to open counter until 11 so if you have cash to pay in you're out of luck. Staff member suggested I 'should be thankful that they even have a counter as other banks don't even have that'. So it appears that Barclays are happy to at least not be as bad as other banks.

Dealt with Al Abby and Marta yesterday.Brilliant service very polite professional and helpful in a stressful situation.True asset employees well done Barclays and these staff thanks so much.

This branch is definitely not for partially sighted customers. They used to be very helpful but my mothers independence of banking using her current account has been taken away from her, and found staff very forceful of what they wanted her to do. Only a few members of staff are helpful but not management level

Visited twice on consecutive days. On the first visit I was told they were too busy to help me and I should come back another day (after queueing). When I came back the following day I was asked to wait in the queue, and was then told after waiting that I should complete what I need to do online... I then tried this, and called the helpline, who were very helpful but told me it could only be done in branch!

Visited Bury St Edmunds branch on the Cornhill earlier today.
