They don't even derserve 1 star! Obtained £40 in change yesterday from Barclays, Exeter. Only £20 received when I checked later. Everyone makes mistakes, so tried to ring them today, only to find there is no local direct number. Kept on hold for 30 minutes only to be told they cannot put me through to the local branch to discuss the issue! What kind of service is this? I now have to incur extra expense and valuable time going back to the branch to try and get it sorted. Grrrrr Are there any proper banks left????

terrible experience I have to relive of a teller causing a tremendous amount of anxiety because I withdrawn a large sum of cash.

she refused to hand over the money as I could not answer her question as to what I intend to do with it.

I read retail banks invest and use our money though we have it on tap. whether that was the reason quote a duty of care !

you will never my money. very rude. uncalled for. only a moment.

People that work in banks have the mentality of civil servants. They have no concept of customer service and see interacting with the public as a major inconvenience. Effectively there is no choice in banking, so they can get away with treating us with barely hidden disdain. The new jobsworths.

This bank is the perfect example.

Appalled by the customer service, who greeted customers in the Covid secure queue. The woman was rude and dismissive, saying "well you will need an appointment for that!"
We won't be opening a bank account here. Off to HSBC. The difference was world's apart.

A branch of Barclay Bank with Bad Customer advisory.
Delayed close to an hour just to complete account opening process.
Lack of synergies with other branches.
The branch is still in locomotive age just operating in a modern structure.

Barclays have financed more fossil fuel projects than any of the UK’s largest banks. This is despite warnings from climate scientists that we need to reduce fossil fuel use immediately to avoid catastrophic climate change. 20 million at risk of starving in Africa due to drought, India closing its wheat exports due to failed harvests, Northern Italy’s drought that threatens its food production- all a taste of what is coming in the next 20 years . Thanks Barclays.

Recently opened a Barclays account after a recommendation from a friend. I love it! The app is so user friendly, efficient and clear. I decided to switch from my old account however had to stop it mid switch. I popped into the Exeter branch to see if they could help, the man on the front desk wasn’t the most helpful however staff member Elaine overheard my struggle and offered to help. She sat us down and tried to cancel the switch. It was too late however Elaine managed to email someone who cancelled my switch the next day! Even though I had pass the switch cancellation period. Elaine was so helpful and an absolute life saver:)) great experience in my first week with Barclays

Staff are perfectly nice and try to help but that doesn't make a difference when the banks policy is to take advantage where possible.
I opened a business account which became inactive due to covid. I was told I wouldn't be charged on the account during this time but they resumed charging the account without notifying me. I was told I could request the money back but there was no guarantee and they would charge me again in the meantime while I waited for a response. Decided it wasn't worth it and closed the account.
The website is also very slow and clunky and they made it very difficult to check exactly how much money they had taken. Not a great experience overall, definitely will not be using them again for business or personal banking
