Terrible service from both Chester and Wrexham branches. HSBC is going downhill very fast. I will be moving to another bank after 30+ years of banking with them. The younger staff don't know the meaning of loyalty and customer service.

Tried to do a wire transfer Three staff members sent me to someone else. As a premier member I was eventually sent upstairs where I was ignored by a lady on the phone who repeatedly broke off from her conversation to ask if I would go stand somewhere else. Eventually gave up and left. Very bad customer service

I’m not really sure what’s with the 1 star - 2 stars reviews but I can say for sure that they’re not related to the bank’s services or the support that the people working in this branch provide you, as a customer. Keep up the good work!

Tried to open 2 new acts today was told would be 90 mins wait time. Did try to call on the phone to make appointment earlier in the day was on hold for 25mins. Am now in Natwest opening the 2 acts for daughter. Shame for them

If Lloyd’s Bank can open 9.30am to 3.30pm then why can’t HSBC. It’s a very small window for business account holder to get to branch. I’m sure personal account holders aren’t too pleased either. Polite and efficient once you are there.

Absolutely terrible service - tried to setup two accounts. I provided correct information online, which was rejected and told to go to my local branch (which has shut down). Now have to travel nearly 1 hour to get to Chester branch. I phoned HSBC customer services on two occasions and was put through to a person which I think was in the Philippines - the phone line was terrible and they could not answer questions directly. I was put on hold for most of the 45 minute phone call. The customer service people also could not book an appointment at the Chester branch. These are basic customer service functions and should be dealt with in a matter of minutes. I do not know how you can run / a business like this - if this was a small company, they would be out of business in no time.

Just walked in to upgrade my account. Seen within 5mins and done within 15mins so all good on that front. Is clean and looks new inside and the exterior building is historic and impressive. Negatives are more to do with bank itself. No one seems to know anything and the advice is all over the place. The people on live chat told me to go to the bank which was fine but afterwards I wanted to set up a new credit card. I was told this can be done in the branch by live chat but was then told to do this via the app. Tried this once I left but they said I couldn't do it via the app and had to do it via the live chat on the credit card page. They said it wasn't possible to have two credit cards and said to cancel the one I have and wait 3 months but that they were in a different department so weren't sure. So I called up and was told that it was fine to have two cards and just needed to apply on the app which took minutes...
