I'd love to do business with Virgin Money. They are a great bank, and have fantastic products. In fact, they are so great that when I want to buy their services they NEVER pick up their phones. What a shame! I'll just try the next bank that picks up their phone.

Raised a dispute with Virgin against a retailer that had partially refunded me due to a failure in providing me services. After going around the houses after weeks of chasing, my claim on the disputed transaction was denied.

In the end, the retailer agreed to refund the full amount and has demonstrated that they have refunded all of the money. However, Virgin Money has failed to credit that money against my account.

Raising this with Virgin Money as a problem, my account is now in dispute and affecting my credit rating, I received a letter 10 weeks ago saying they would take 4 weeks to investigate my dispute and nothing since.

My case is now with the Financial Ombudsman to force Virgin Money to complete the most basic level of service and hold them accountable.

Will be closing my account soon as the dispute is settled and never going back. A loan shark will be better than these clowns.

Locked out again. Waiting for an answer on the phone for over 45 mins . Numerous Emails , finally got an answer telling me to phone and wait . I'm not prepared to do this. Absolutely disgusted with Virgin money.

Offer competitive rates. However to open some accounts, you have to do it in store. It’s so unfriendly that the stores only open on weekdays. The store never picks up the phone. I requested to book an appointment online. I got a call back several days later to tell me it’s all been booked and I have to wait for over a month for the next available one. I then chased for the next available appointment via email and so far two weeks past no update. How difficult can it be to book an appointment? And you don’t need specialist trained staff to open a saving account so what’s taken so long?! Awful service!

Went to open accounts, was told that I didn't have to correct documents Despite having an email from a person in banch on what to bring. Was then sat down in a room with a phone speaking to someone in another branch who had to set the account up as Bristol doesn't have an 'account opener' I have no idea of the actual useful function of this branch and would be amazed if it is still open in 6 months. At which point I'll have to go to Cardiff to sort out withdrawing money from a savings account. No wonder virgin money have a terrible customer service rating as a business.

Don't open a virgin money account. Terrible customer service. They have a technical issue and have locked my account. I can't make business critical payments and they tell me nothing they can do! Beware do not open an account with them

I took out a 0% interest free credit card with virgin money, the first month's direct debit came out and unfortunately bounced as they had set it to the end of the month, I realised the next day and went to the app to pay it. When I went to the app it told me that I needed to pay that day or I would lose my 0% interest free offer. Phew I thought and paid it on the app.

I have just got my statement and am now being charged interest, after over an hour on the phone I was told by customer service that yes they can see that I paid on the app but it should have been a faster payment as then the money would have reached my account on time. As such they are not going to reinstate my offer and have started charging interest.

Rip off company, avoid.

First of all what kind of bank is closed both days on the weekend. Do they have rose tinted glasses where they belive no one has a job and can only attend on the weekends. Secondly my partner and I tried opening a joint bank account and they made it the most difficult experience of our lives to the point where we are now going with Lloyd's bank
