The Business Banking service they are giving is just a joke. Always 2-3 people standing and welcoming customers but never manning the business banking department. They should have a rethink about their priorities. Seems like no one in charge and staff always blames holidays or sickness for lack of service. The place needs a proper Branch Manager.

I went to this branch on 23/10/15 for my bank statement. Richa Saxena is a true asset for the 100 Old Broad St. HSBC Bank, very professional, calm and collective. She went the extra mile and delivered the best customer service, I have ever seen in a bank. Thank you very much.

This branch is just a disgrace to HSBC Group. I come from Hong Kong where HSBC is by far the best bank locally, if not regionally - professional, helpful and efficient. I visited this branch a few times and every time the experience was devastating.

1. The staff responsible for account opening basically doesn't know their own products. I asked to open a Euro account, booked an appointment, waited in the line, only to meet the guy who told me you cannot deposit nor withdraw Euros from the account. I asked then what's the point of the account, and he couldn't answer. I opened the account online by myself that night.

2. I was told I could upgrade my account. Booked an appointment and came back 3 hours later, and was declined the upgrade.

3. I ordered a new card, asked to collect at this branch, and after a few weeks went to collect it. The guy told me it was sent to Hong Kong. I called my relationship manager who insisted it was already delivered to this branch. I went back again and they found the card. Then they forgot to give me the other document which has the password. I went back the 3rd time to get it.

4. I had to submit a FATCA document as requested, when I went to hand it in, the staff was clearly clueless what is was.

Devastating. Except Simon at the counter, who is always friendly and smiling.

The reception is good, however very bad organization that they even don't know the customer is waiting. Not friendly staff and unprofessional, inefficient service which requires visiting the branch twice to open a basic account. If you're an internetional student or someone who valued the time, definitely don't go there, you won't get help but get mad.

Terrible organisation and service. After incorrectly collecting the wrong details, they issued me the wrong card and sent the pin to my previous overseas address, I had already updated and provided prove of my new address so I'm not sure how this mistake was made other than simple idiocy.

So after about a month of waiting I will finally have my new bank card.

Instead of any apology by the manager who I happened to be dealing with, I was told that was all and asked to leave.

If there is any HSBC officer that is in charge of handling complaints perhaps you may want to do something by now, mines not the first.

poor customer service, I was made to sort a bag of coins into little bags no help offered because solitaire won't play itself..
when the cashier saw it was for charity she said didn't even count the cash properly, just stamped the slip . The branch was empty by the way

I went down to update my online banking on monday. The agent was really helpful and was really patient with me as i had to remember all my password. Couldnt catch his name but big thank you

Went in about 5 weeks ago to complete an application, they wasted 30 minutes of my time, only to tell me they couldn't find my application.
Called up a few days later and it was found instantly.....
Took 7 weeks to open a bank account....
