After days of unsuccessfully trying to conduct an international transaction via Barclays online banking, we decided to go to the main bricks & mortar location. It was so frustrating dealing with the faceless online representatives and the overwhelming amount over promising and under delivering. Matt Regan greeted us while we were waiting in line for attention; Matt is a manager at this location and did a brilliant job of covering for the other Managers [at this location] who were otherwise unavailable. Matt assigned Bev to help us and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Bev was confident, capable and consummate; she should be commended accordingly. Thank you Barclays for turning a pigs ear into a silk purse.

Called into Barclays Bank Princes Street on Saturday to pay in some coin, only to find the automatic tellers do not accept coin, and the ‘manned’ desk is not open Saturdays - whatever has happened to Barclays, not having a ‘manned’ desk open - I went up the road to Santander Bank who had three ‘manned’ counters open. Well done Santander.

Had a phone appointment booked to sort mortgage agreement in principle. Took afternoon off for. No-one rang. Complained, no response to date, 5 weeks later still nothing. 33 years banking with them and this is what I get!

Shambles, stand in a queue to order change and the staff walking a round and ask if they could help. What customers need is chairs aswait times can be up to 25 minutes and more desks open, and we pay bank charges for the abysmal service. Rude staff, when asked for change order staff tutted. Gave name and business, was asked how much for, the person said the amount which I corrected and the comment was am I bad, so unprofessional.

Very unfriendly service, prefer to go to the automated machines, much more friendly than especially the guy behind the desk who seems to be on the verge of a mental breakdown lol

Nice to see that Barclays has risen to the present financially straitend circumstances and rewarded my 45 years of continuous loyalty by treating me to a less favourable bank account.
There are few difficult situations in life that you can't rely on the grasping financial institutions to make a dam sight worse. Barclays you know who you are so thanks.

Evidently one of our accounts is to go online only. Barclays identify this as a drive to save paper, which would be very laudable were it not for the fact that i have been trying, since 1971, to persuade Barclays not to keep sending us 2 copies of our joint account which they have resolutely failed to do, so every month i have to shred up to 6 sheets of totally useless paper.
No doubt i will now be sent 2 copies of the wonderful new online offering, but at least i won't need to get out the shredder every time.
