Worst staying experience ever. The bedroom is clean with heat, staff is kind, and the sharing area has abundant amenities, like washer and stove.
That said, everything else is extremely terrible. The towel provided is apparently dirty with hair on it. Wi-Fi doesn’t function at all, and the password of digital lock was wrong.
The worst part is the bathroom. Be aware that the bathroom IS SHARED, which means you have to go to the public area to access it first. The toilet doesn’t work all the time, and the water tap is either extremely hot or cold. The shower is SO BAD. The water heater is not stable, and the light TURNS OFF automatically and you CANNOT TURN IT BACK ON WITHOUT WAITING FOR 10 MIN, so you have to shower in dark.
Strongly not recommend this place to anyone for any purposes.

It is very clean and location excellent. It is easy to get a bus or train within a walking distance. There are restaurants and shops close by. The only problem is that the staff only checks you in and leave the premises
They only come back to the premises around 4pm. So in case at night you need help or emergency you can't relay on themAnd that is the downsize. Apart from that it would have been a fantastic place to stay

Every category votes out of 5.

- Staff: very kind (5/5)
- Room: relatively clean, clean towels and clean bead sheets, but the walls were a little bit sketchy, the windows were very old and hardly openable. (2/5)
- Bathroom: shared bathroom only, very old, cleaned twice a day, but still no clean appearance. Often mold at the ceiling, in corners or in the ventilation shafts in the ceiling or in the windows. (1/5)
- Room-View: the dull neighbor house and the ugly backyard (0/5)
- Interior age: rather old (1/5)
- 1st outside impact: it is a little bit hard to find the pension. There is only a very small sign directly at the door that says This is the Lion Head. And it does not look very appealing (0/5)
- Noise level at night (0:00 - 6:00) :every night around 22:00 - 0:00 neighbors were pumping water out of their building into the public canalizations. Additionally the walls have been quite light, so one could hear the next rooms people snoring (1/5)
- price-performance ratio: was good (4/5)

Overall feeling: neutral (result gets rounded in default mathematical manner)

Calculation scheme:
(2*Staff + 3*Room + 3*Bathroom +
room-view + Interior age + 1st outside impact + 2* noise level at night + 2*price-performance ratio) / 15

In total:
(2*5 + 3*2 + 3*1 + 0 + 1 + 0 + 2*1 + 2*4) / 15 = 30 / 15 = 2.00

Right by the street and broken windows = woke up because of police cars rushing by all night. + constant noises from outside.

Therefore super cold room - although heater provided.

Booked the place for 180 EURO a night but ended up paying 180 POUND. = 40 EURO more than first expected.

Don’t go there.

When we asked for someone to fix the windows the man simply taped up the cracks. :)

I do not recommend this place. They changed our reservation and would not make it right.
And on top of that, it is very difficult to find. Our taxi driver was kind enough to call for us and still had trouble finding it down an alley way. The fact they would change our reservation coming concerning the room and the beds without checking with us is unprofessional. :(

Good clean hotel at the center of London, very convenient as just beside the metro and bus stop, like 3 minutes to metro station and 1 minute to bus stop and 1 minute to big super market Asda. Polite staffs.

I really don’t have high expectations while traveling on low cost, but that was beyond my expectations. We couldn’t contact the owner- he didn’t answer the phone nor messages and the doors were closed. We were seriously worried we didn’t have anywhere to sleep that night and it ruined our first day in London. He finally answered my email, which I’d sent a week earlier and we could check- in 6 hours after first arriving.
Bathrooms were absolutely gross with mold on the ceiling and dirt on shower curtains. We were disgusted to touch anything there.
The rooms themselves were not that bad, but opening the door with its old keypad required a few tries and minutes of practice.
Overall, if you need just a place to sleep in London, you can choose The Lions, it will not be the most pleasurable stay though and you will want to forget about it as soon as you check out.

Kept waiting outside for half hour then eventually shown our room for it to not of even been cleaned and made up. I expect it not being perfect for low budget but rooms aren't at all like in the pictures
