Let me start by saying that Bedknobs have NO sales pitch. This was the winning point for me in wanting to support a local independent store. I was happy to pay more for a bed in Bedknobs than a bed in Dreams for the simple fact that Bedknobs don’t try to pitch sales at you and persuade you to spend more than you can afford. I was actually stuck between two different mattresses that I wanted. Greg - The store rep, actually advised me that it would be sensible to buy the cheaper one and try it for a month, if it’s not suitable then I return it and buy the other. I fully respect him for this, so from that moment on, I decided I would support Bedknobs store and purchases my beds and mattresses with them.

Bad points:
Misleading information: In November I asked about Black Friday or Xmas sales, I was told that there will be one and that they offered 10% or 15% off the previous year. After waiting a month, I was then told no sales are being offered, instead their prices would remain the same throughout the Christmas period and all of January before being raised in Feb.

But at the beginning of January, the same bed I had been wanting since November had now been increased by £100. When I mentioned this to Greg, at first he tried to tell me that I must be mistaken because the prices had not been changed. Luckily, I had a screenshot picture of the bed on their website priced £100 less because I had sent it to my partner. When I showed Greg the picture of the bed on their website priced £100 less, just a week prior, he couldn’t argue against it and he let me order the bed for £849. Without that picture, I would have been charged £949 for a bed that I was rather told would be in sales which never happened.

Just 10 days into having my new bed, my building suffered a leak. Now ny mistake was letting Bedknobs know that my landlord was covering my damaged items, because time and time again, I was told “Your landlord’s will cover this so it’s not your problem”. But the thing is, I’m not trying to cost my landlord a fortune, and regardless of whether my landlord is covering it, I am still a returning customer, and they should have given me some sort of grace but nope, in fact they were quite harsh.

I enquired of having a small wooden part of the bed replaced, I was quoted half the price of the whole bed. Wow! I was also told that if I opted to do that, then my 1-year warranty becomes void. WOW!! In other words, they just wanted me to buy a whole new bed. I thought this was quite harsh.

I then opted to go for the best mattress they have in store which costs £1349 because I have severe back pains and I think this mattress will help aid my sleeps. My landlord was obviously only covering the cost of the mattress I already had, which was £599. I was paying the £750 difference out of my pocket. I was told I would have the bed in 14 days, he even looked at the calendar next to his desk and pointed out 12th March. Ok!

I came in store on the 11th to pay the full balance as my mattress was due the next day, I was then told that my mattress will be with me on the 22nd. This actually frustrated me. Initially, I was told that specific mattress takes two weeks to be ready and delivered now all of a sudden it’s become 3.5 weeks wait for me and what annoyed me even more was the fact that Greg made me out to seem like a liar. He was adamant that he had never given me the date of 12th.

I’m an understanding person. If Greg had just said, sorry the manufacturers have taken a little longer than usual, I would have been okay but to make me look like a liar really annoyed me.

After I complained about the delivery date, they refused to offer me any discount at but instead offered me free pillows and a mattress cover.

From the first day that I stepped into Bedknobs, I was told that the MD really looks after his customers. This is either a lie or I was singled out and denied of this so called customer care.

Fantastic service from James and Darren. James helped my elderly father choose the perfect mattress. Super easy to order and my Dad loves it!. Just returned myself to buy a new double bed. Again really easy process - good choice, very good value, quality products and excellent service. Looking forward to its arrival soon !!

Yesterday I visited Bedknobs in Hemel Hempstead. I was greeted by James as I was the first customer entered.

Outstanding customer service from James, very professional with so much knowledge to detail regarding mattresses. James accommodated all my needs including delivery which I really appreciated as I'm not from the attachment areas covered for delivery.

My experience went so smoothly from entering to leaving as one extremely happy customer.

This is my first ever review for any company I've ever wrote for because of the excellent customer service received. If I could I would rate 10* I would highly recommend others to visits this place.

My journey was very worthwhile and I can't wait for my new bed and matteress to arrive. Thank you so much for everything James.

Cannot fault the service from James at the Hemel Hempstead store. He has such a relaxed and friendly approach to selling and doesn’t make you feel forced into buying. The price was very reasonable and James was happy to accommodate all of our requests. Delivery took less than a week and the drivers called to let me know they were on their way with the bed - assembly of the bed took less than 15 minutes, amazing service from Barry and Frankie. Will definitely be recommending Bedknobs to friends and family!

Always a great service... excellent choice of beds in all different price ranges. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are friendly and very knowledgeable.
Quick delivery time and took old bed away too!! Perfect! Highly recommend!

I have had a really great experience buying my bed here. I received a nice welcome when I went it. I didn't feel pressurised, but I was given time to look around and try the beds for comfort. It felt quite an easy process as James explained about headboards, fabrics and what base and mattress I wanted. Quick delivery times and a fair price.😊

From start to finish my experience with everyone at Bedknobs in Hemel Hempstead was fantastic,Amazing,superb and better than the five stars I have given.
These days we can all shop online for everything we need and often at less expense,I decided go for quality with my new bed and also help local business and I made the correct decision.My first consultation with Darren was so helpful and after he showed me everything available I chose the bed I wanted,there’s no heavy sales pitch the customer makes the choice entirely.
I had some dealings with James about delivery, he was every bit as helpful as Darren and the fellas who delivered the monster bed I had bought were stars.Quality service,quality product,quality aftercare and for me a quality nights sleep.

Absolutely delighted with our experience with Bedknobs (Hemel).
We were recommended by friends to give Bedknobs a try. SO GLAD WE DID!
James was on hand to give us expert advice when we visited the store. We found him to be very knowledgable and helpful, without being pushy. We were amazed at the vast range of products on offer, and soon found exactly what we were looking for.
In addition to the excellent customer service given by James, we were delighted with the fact that we only waited a couple of weeks for our bed, the delivery was free and they even took away our old bed for disposal!
Our bed was delivered and assembled today by Barry and Tony. We found them to be friendly and very professional. They worked in a very tidy manner, shoes were removed as they entered the house and all wrapping materials were removed as they left.
All in all, we were absolutely delighted with our experience with Bedknobs and would most certainly recommend them.
If you’re looking for quality product, competitive pricing and excellent customer service, Bedknobs is the place for you!
