New Forest Cycling - Burley

Simple, quick and easy. The guys we dealt with were great, no complaints. We started with a tandem which we'd never used before, went for the 12 mile deer sanctuary route and loved it (quick tip - put the heaviest at the front, we tried it the other way round to see.........didn't work!). We then switched and got individual bikes and went for a 30 mile cycle to Beaulieu. Great cycle paths in the area. But the service we received from NFC was superb and everything was reasonable priced too.

We booked e-bikes and the team fitted seats and gave a quick demo of how to use them. They had some basic maps to show different routes from Burley and we chose the deer sanctuary ride with the addition to the pub which was great! Plenty of downhill stretches to feel the wind in your hair - but of course you had to get up the hill first - hence the e-bikes were great!
The only thing I would suggest is maybe roll the bike of the ramp to check for height as I needed to raise the seat a bit after we got on the road.

Nice and easy to hire bikes. We called on the day and they reserved three bikes for us, however I would recommend booking. They were £22 for adult bikes and £11 for a childrens bike.

They helped us to pick the cycle route to follow. We wanted mainly off road with chances of seeing some animals - This was the pink (deer sanctuary) route. We came across horses on a few occasions. They even blocked us (and cars) on the road which was funny. We also saw some deer in the sanctuary at bolderwood and again in another field.

We headed to Acres Down Tea room which was around 8 miles from the cycle shop. The building is tucked away in the forest and is very unique. The scones were lovely but bring cash as they don't take card. Well worth the visit.

Overall it was a lovely ride and the bikes were comfortable. Loads to see and plenty of places to stop for a picnic or a recharge.

Great service. Booked by phone the day before. Tried a tandem for first time 😁. Lots of rides in the immediate area and they were very happy to advise where best for beginner tandemists to go (the forest: easy way-marked route and, fairly quickly, off road, which was reassuring!

Monday morning, we arrived unscheduled with a busted chain. The guys were busy setting up shop, servicing bikes and had a new one to build up - but they still fitted us in. We could continue on our planned route. Superb professional service. Thank you.

These guys are Brilliant, we live over 250 miles away but have a bolt hole here, we always used Burley for minor repairs and rentals.
These last two weeks we have had to use Burley twice firstly for my youngest sons bike ( 13) he managed to severely buckle his wheel, Matt replaced this without fuss and a great price, then a few days later my eldest (17) had an issue with his gears, dropper post and brakes, it was quite complicated and a lot of it caused by the people up north we normally use. Matt took hold of the situation really looked after us once again. We hired two e-bikes whilst Matt was repairing the last bike, the experience was first class, and I have to say the price was really good.
I feel I can trust these guys, solid advice, competence with real knowledge and professionalism.
If you bike go here it’s as simple as that.

As others have said, the staff here are fantastic with a super can-do attitude. Helped today with a mechanical that got me back home. Can thoroughly recommend NFC and their sister shop in Lyndhurst 👍
