Fixed on Bikes - Mobile Mechanic

After reading the good reviews on line for Van, I booked my appointment for brake issues. I didn't have to wait long for him to fit me into his busy schedule. He kept me informed of his arrival time, efficient and effective work, had the bike sorted in no time. Very pleasant and friendly manner. Top guy. Wouldn't hesitate to use him again if the need arose. Thoroughly recommend.

I called Van to get my old racing bike fixed. It was falling apart and I was going to get rid of it. Van came and fixed it for a reasonable price. Now my bike looks old but is in perfect condition. And I love it that way!

A well-maintained bicycle is very important for two reasons: fun to ride and your own safety. From now on, I am a regular customer of Van and I will call him again in 6 months for a quick check.

I asked Van to come and see if my old bike could be brought back to life, after some years of neglect. With the brakes needing work, cables replacing, play in the headset and bottom bracket, and tyres worn, I expected him to say that parts were not available or it wasn't worth it, but he took completely the opposite approach, telling me it wasn't an issue and got to work. Due to the parts required it took a couple of visits. His attention to detail, and application for the work is exemplary. He really knows his stuff. I am so pleased with the end result as I was in fact thinking I'd have to buy a new bike. But after his work its as good as new. I can't give him a high enough recommendation. The fact he comes to your door is an even better bonus. And at the end of it all his prices are excellent. Just a fantastic job.

Van does what is best for your bike. I was impressed with the attention he paid to both bikes and the thoroughness of his attention and work. He is obviously very good at what he does and yet comes across as humble and earnest. A friendly person and his service is worth every penny. I’m very happy with his work.

Van was communicative throughout, going out his way to understand exactly the problem and how best to source parts and price accurately. Really personable and with the size of a cargo bike making it so difficult to transit to a workshop coming to our home was an absolute must for us. I found Van on a Google search and he came over to investigate why the chain was skipping on my commuter road bike. I had thought chain wear but he quickly discovered it was due to a seized rear derailleur.

Long story short, he came back to fit a replacement but it turned out I’d bought the wrong one, the old type is no longer available, and three weeks later he fitted upgraded shifters for me so it almost feels like a new bike.

He did a great job for a great price and is a lovely guy too. It’s also amazingly convenient that he comes to you, and a big plus when life is busy and there’s no bike shop just round the corner. Highly recommended!

Van was so brilliant over sorting out my rather old bike with gear and break problems and a lot more besides. He came on a stormy evening and got soaked but that didn’t stop him from getting my bike back to working perfectly. He was cheerful throughout. and carried all the spare parts I needed. Great value.
