I went to Bikes Revived to get my two sons bikes serviced. They use them every day for school and one was in desperate need of wheel truing after a crash.
The staff stated that they will carry out a full service checking every bolt for tightness, brakes, cassettes etc.
One bike needed the hub tightened whilst the other had not only the wheel issue but also the pedal was cross threaded. They re-threaded this whilst servicing saving me buying a new crank arm.
Everything was checked over, oiled and they even wiped the bikes down making them shine.
The staff were willing to spend time with myself and Sons discussing the bikes whilst my daughter was entertaining another member of staff on his guitar. They seemed very engaged and knowledgeable. They really are invested in helping people over making money. I was so impressed I went home and got the wife's bike so I could get that services also.
They obviously do a great job with servicing otherwise I would not have taken over £3k in bikes to them. This is not really a place to go to buy new top of the range bikes like Evans Cycles or Halfords. Bikes Revived is more for people who are a little more cash strapped and need good second hand bikes for a good price or bike servicing for much less than Halfords and Evans.
Phil (I think hes the owner) mentioned that they are a not for profit organisation. They do up a lot of bikes and give them to homeless people and charities in the community. They also offer sessions on bike maintenance and rebuilds. I will be booking my Sons in for that in Feb when these restart.
Bikes Revived is located in Tilgate huts and only open some days a week. So worth checking on there website to find out if they are open.
I highly recommend using Bikes Revived for all types of bike servicing from full suspension to 30 year old vintage.
