Evans Cycles

Many thanks to the great team at St Paul's. I have just completed my first cycling tour in Taiwan and they were so helpful with their advice and in helping me have the right kit for the job. They couldn't do anything about my fitness but they made an epic trip that much more enjoyable.
Also, if you are interested in going to this amazing country, with the most delicious food and perfect roads I recommend using Panagoe. The two brothers that run Panagoe will customise your trip and show you all the best places on the way. Their bikes are pretty awesome too!

On my commute from Canary Wharf to Kingston, the front brake straddle cable on my vintage Diamond Back Ascent Ex from 1987 snapped as I braked hard to avoid the errant pedestrian on Lower Thames Street. Googled for nearby bicycle emporia and found Evans near St Pauls.
Was greeted with a warm welcome, despite it being minutes from closing and the mechanic team (Nick impersonator?) considered it a challenge rather than fobbing me off and within a few minutes we had a working bodge to my ancient Shimano BR-MT60 Brakes.
Headed off home and made it without further incident.

This shop (Farringdon) has a great selection of bikes and accessories, very friendly staff and also very helpful and thorough.. I bought a Gravel bike there this morning and I am very pleased to have used this shop.. Would highly recommend.. 👍👍

Purchase of new bike went like clockwork. Assistant Manager (Vaznak?) patiently and professionally handled all my queries over several visits and offered sensible and cost-conscious advice throughout. Very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommend.

My bike was incapable of riding, saw to me straight away and fixed it then and there so I could ride home! Great service!!

Older, grey-haired man working there today (30/10/2022) was incredibly unpleasant. He looked visibly annoyed when I entered the shop. When I asked about getting my bike serviced I was told that I could "look up the service availability online". When I asked about availability today and I was told there was "no mechanic in". When I asked about availability tomorrow and possibly leaving the bike with them overnight and I was told "we wouldn't be able to take it today". When I asked about availability over the coming week I was told "well it wouldn't show me that here". One of those people with an infectious unhappiness about them. I do hope he's ok but I won't be getting my bike serviced at Evans any time soon.

Terrible experience ordering a bike thru cycle to work scheme. Waited 2 months for the bike to arrive at this store, only to have the order cancelled. Their only explanation: ‘an IT error.’
