Blackboy Hill Cycles

Needed a 2nd hand bike, they were very helpful, sorted me out with a great option, and economical new tyres too. I've been riding it around this afternoon, delivered drawings to a customer, it's perfect. They didn't want my 2 part xchange bikes, but helpfully told me where and how to price them to sell. Customer service was more like a friendly workshop than a retail experience (ie no frills!).

I am a supporter of local and small businesses, but I do NOT recommend this one.
Extremely poor customer experience, and most disappointed by this small family business. I went to the shop to ask for a job on my bike, I was told that it will take up to 24hrs. When I brought the bike, I was then told 48hrs. Fine, even if I use the bike for commuting, I found a workaround. However, 48hrs after, still no news. When I phoned the shop, I was told that due staff shortage, they did not had time to even look at the bike... surprisingly, when I went to the shop the mechanic was outside the shop having a cigarette break... as he was when I was on my home the day before (I pass by the shop twice a day on my way to work and back).
I took the bike to a much more efficient bike shop, and the repair was done in 20 minutes, while I was waiting. And it was on Saturday morning.
Think twice before going to this shop.

I rented a "hybrid" from this shop, that was almost brand new and in excellent condition, It was really what I would call a gravel bike, that was awesome for road and path riding in the surrounding Bristol areal. I found the staff extremely helpful, provided me with all the extras.. strong lock, helmet, pump, changing equipment without any extra charge. The rates were very fair. All in all a great experience, and I highly recommend

Excellent local, independent and reasonably priced bicycle shop that we've used as a family for years and they've never let us down. Went in at lunchtime today to buy some new bike lights. Great as ever. The man was very patient while I tried out different lights and gave me good advice, showing me a very reasonably priced set rather than steering me to the most expensive. He then fitted them for me and also pumped the tyres at no extra charge. As a woman, I really appreciate a bike shop where the staff are polite and not condescending. A gem of a local shop.

On their website and phone call (one day before) they mentioned that the bike hire costs £20/24h. At the shop they asked for £25. Their bikes were almost new so £5 extra would have been fine. But the strange attitude that they can do whatever at their shop was very disappointing!

Had an awful experience here where I was spoken to in an incredibly patronising tone by one of the male staff. Came back to pick up my bike and the front wheel was completely loose and spinning on itself (I could have seriously injured myself had I not noticed before getting on the bike), so I brought my bike back and the man had forgotten to tighten the screws on the handlebar. Wouldn’t recommend.

Had my bike serviced today and am really pleased. Friendly, helpful team, quick turn-around, and great value. Thank you ☺️

This is a really great bike shop.... they go out of their way to fit in running repairs if necessary and are conscientious to meet any deadlines.
I always find them most welcoming and friendly.
A traditional family-run business that consistently helps all types of cyclists.
Highly recommended!
