A true five star dealer

I want to give a huge thank you to Andrew from mate bike UK for his great engagement in my MATE X ice white project:) Very very patient, professional, kind and helpful dealer. I get for every e-mail an answer, every phone call a call back. I live in Germany and could buy this bike easier in Berlin but the way this dealer treat his customers is really awesome. No question anytime again !!!! THANK YOU MATE BIKE UK

I purchased 2 x Mate Bike X's and they are the best electric (ebikes) bikes. They got delivered next day and took about 15 mins to build each bike! It was only bolting the wheels on and seat post so very easy! Mate Bike UK have been on the end of the phone for us with every little question we have had about our mate bikes and I highly recommend them to anyonme looking for an ebike!!!

I have owned two Mate bikes over the last 4 years and I can't recommend them highly enough. Fast, fun, well-built and a joy to own and ride. The fact that it folds for easy storage is a massive bonus.

The service and product knowledge from both Selfridges (see James) in London and the MATE shop in Spitalfields (Dave and his team) are excellent.

I had some issues with my first MATE (which was stolen a few months ago). This was a very early model bought via Indiegogo - so I'm assuming that some of the parts were possibly not up to scratch. Service wasn't great back then either - but they have really got their act together and brilliant to have physical stores and real people to talk to if you have any issues.

My first MATE was stolen on the Southbank in London. Middle of the day, chained up under a CCTV camera, with a security guard about 20 metres away... and no - it wasn't insured. They are obviously in demand by professional thieves!! I recommend you get a very tough lock - or keep it with you at all times.

I loved my previous bike so much that I immediately bought a new one. This time with the bigger battery, hydraulic brakes and better gears. My new bike is amazing!!! The battery life is over double that of my first and the quality has really improved.

If you want a great looking, fun, quick, rugged, quality, head turner of a bike - MATE is the answer. Great value too when you compare like for like with other brands. By the way... I am a real person with absolutely no affiliation with MATE what-so-ever.... just a big fan.

These “bikes” are a joke. I’ve never seen one, but it doesn’t take a genius to work out this is absolute rubbish.
Go to a proper bike shop.
Sincerely, someone who knows about bikes and ebikes 👍

Amazing service from Andrew and his crew at Mate in London.
I am 1200 miles in on this wonderful bike and have had two issues to date first being my mudguard which was replaced in two days!
Secondly what seemed to be my updated charger which is not Mate by the way appears to be the problem and the guys were full of support never the less.
Excellent Aftersales back up which has given me so much confidence in the company and this great Bike!
Follow us all on Facebook and get yourself this fun bike 👍

Don't waste your money

Definitely feel ripped off. For the price of the bike, you can do so much better. I've been using the bike for about 5 months now. Real good looking bike, but genuinely the frame is the only positive to this bike, all electrics bar the back-light and main functionalities of the bike have stopped working. This includes the horn and front light which are imperative for safety, and have now had to pay out extra money to replace them.

They've capped the bikes at 25 km/h now, and when I've looked up how to mod this particular bike to go faster, I will pretty much have to replace everything apart from the frame which I could have bought for £1200-£1500. The only reason this has 2 stars is because the team who sold it to me were pretty nice guys, but then I guess you would be if you're trying to get someone to overpay for something right?

The bike would have an issue with itself every month, fragile to use; not only will the motors fail you but so will parts of the frame start falling off; battery sparking and making fire; front wheel falling off while cycling… many more issues…
Wouldn’t recommend buying unless you want to be disappointed and lose your money or put your life at risk…

I'm so happy with my bike, I got it though cycle to work scheme. Which took only 2 days in total and I collect my bike from Woolwich warehouse, staff was great and I was so happy to be shown my bike by Saad, key guy, knows allt about about mate bikes.
