After moving further away from my work, I decided that I needed an electric assisted bike to make my now 20 mile a day and rather hilly commute easier.

A quick google search brought up several electric bike conversion services and I emailed most of them to get their response. Henry provided the quickest and most informative replies. I knew from his fast responses and enthusiasm that he would be the best person to trust with converting my bike to an e-bike.

The whole process took about two weeks from start to finish and Henry answered any questions I had over these two weeks promptly and with full answers to my questions.

The bike has completely transformed my commute. My commute used to take 40-50 mins and now I can do it in 30 mins. I can accelerate quickly from traffic lights and maintain a good speed in the city which leads to less cars performing close passes. Moreover, hills are now no problem at all. I live at the top of a big hill with a steep gradient. Before, I used to have to dismount my bike and walk it up as the hill is just too steep but now I fly up the hill with ease.

If you’re thinking about whether or not to convert your bike to an e-bike just take the leap and get it converted with custombuilt-ebikes. The customer service is fantastic and the end product will literally transform how you cycle.

I bought a bbshd controller from a Henry Massey. It was faulty but when I asked for a refund Henry said that if I had installed it then it was used and he could not replace or refund me. (How was I supposed to know it was faulty until I installed it?) anyway I bought an ASI controller and it solved the problems but I would not buy from this man or recommend him.

The kit I bought arrived quickly and was straight forward to fit. Everything is working as I'd hoped. The helpful staff also made a customised cable for the battery to the motor (you may need this so best to check)

I wanted a company I could talk too with any problems I may have and these guys know what they are talking about. Ordering was quick and easy and very pleased with my choice, getting the old bike apart was fairly difficult but got there in the end. Putting the new bits together was very easy just follow u tube etc. The end result is brilliant just take your time and try and keep wires tidy. Everything works as it should 100 % recomend this company.

Returned to cycling after a 20 year gap. The conversion done by Custom Built eBikes to my old bike is amazing & has totally transformed my riding experience to one of total pleasure!! Henry was extremely helpful & knowledgeable about the conversion. The whole process was very smooth & hassle free with a courier collection & return of newly converted bike. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
