This place is a hidden gem and a very valuable local resource for cyclists at all levels. Chris is very efficient, well organised and knowledgeable. Don't be put off by his occasionally rather dry manner - he is extremely committed to his customers and looks after them very well. You can rely on him to answer questions such as 'have I ruined my bike?' with honesty and a rapid suggestion for how to solve the problem, and he goes out of his way to ensure that he gets us the best possible deal.

I searched for positive reviews locally for a cycle service facility and Chris’s Cycles got by far the most. As a well meaning amateur I tried to fix my ageing mountain bike, with no success. I rang this morning and dropped the bike off and it was fully serviced and fixed by late afternoon. Chris diagnosed and corrected my mistakes and patiently explained where I had gone wrong. Very pleased to have a serviceable bike once again. The price was very very reasonable. Nice guy, very helpful and I recommend him.

9/8/22 - broke a spoke on a trip to the coast of wales. Was 3 miles from Chris’s cycles thankfully. Rang Chris and he said if you can ride it up to me he’ll sort it. Arrived he worked his magic I even managed to get offered an ice cream, with temp at 23 degrees I didn’t refuse. A real family run business and good to see they are still practicing really good covid safety.
Chris is a very knowledgable chap and fixed my wheel in no time and sent me on way.
I cannot thank them enough they are brilliant..!!

My daughter and I had just started our 6 day coast to coast challenge, a total of 340 miles. My gear lever stopped working at the end of day one and left me stuck in 10th! This happened on Sunday and with bank holiday Monday to follow, there was very little chance of me continuing the ride. Chris very kindly agreed to look at my bike on Sunday evening. He confirmed the gear lever was broke but managed to manually get me into 5th gear which made the following day doable. I did manage to get a temporary gear fix on the Tuesday but really grateful to Chris for his time on Sunday as it allowed me to carry on with our challenge which we did complete on the Friday and raised over £1200 for the guide dog charity. I am doing a four day bike tour following the Offa Dyke. My bike was mashing it’s gears, how delighted I was to find Chris’s cycles in a remote village on the English/ Welsh boarder. Chris took time to help me sort my gears and even found me a pair of cycling shorts. Such great trail Karma, so good to see small businesses like Chris helping cyclist in a remote part of wales. Fantastic! Actually had my ebike working much better than when I first purchased it, fitted a new part quickly and efficiently but also made several minor service adjustments that made it better than it was new. Great to have Chris in the area when you need someone that clearly know what they are doing.

We only had a few days to get our bikes serviced and Chris kindly fitted them into his busy schedule. He did a great job and good value, they are working much more smoothly now.
