Evans Cycles

During my 2 years of tenancy in Cardiff, I have always had a great experience with Evans Cycles.
On the latest occasion, went in to ask for empty bike boxes and within a few minutes, we had the boxes ready for us to take away.
There is also a coffee machine now in the store, which is a lovely addition for those whose bike only needs a quick fix and wish to wait in the shop.
As someone who has visited other bike shops in the city, I would definitely recommend this most.

Recently brought a beautiful bike from Evans Cycles, I was super excited to hear that it had arrived.

I was told to book a time to pick my bike up and chose to do this in the afternoon. On the day of the pick up, I received a call asking if I was still coming to collect my bike, to which I said that I was. I was really impressed that I was called on the day as I felt that they were going over and beyond. I assumed that people book appointments when picking up their bike to help them get set up and know the key functions of the bike etc.

Literally that was not the case. I was given my bike and that was it. I wasn’t assisted with the functions of the bike. When I asked how to wear my helmet I was made to feel like it was a stupid question. My seat was too high but I wasn’t comfortable to ask for help because I felt I was being rushed out.

Thoroughly disappointed, I hadn’t ridden a bike in over a decade and was really excited for this experience only for it to be ruined by poor customer service.

Independent bike store prices from a chain retailer. Little to no service, I wasn't approached once while in the store for 20 minutes although the guy working the checkout was friendly and helpful. Good range of products. Better to shop online for lower prices or use your local independent for better service.

Absolutely awesome. Took my bike in today as it had a slight clicking noise while riding. Pete was at the service station and looked into it straight away. Going through everything trying to get to the bottom of it. Eventually finding an issue with the right peddle. Pete helped me with the new peddle decision and fitted them for me. I left and rode around the bay and back home with no clicking sound at all 😁 only the hum of the wheels. I'd been off work all week riding with the click, I only took my bike in on the Friday 😩 wish I'd gone to see Pete Monday. Can't wait to get out riding on the weekend now 😁

I didn‘t even consider to give here 1 star since he didn’t even check my broken tube then he said it’s not their fault.
1. He said once you rode, it’s not their fault.
2. He said you bought cheap bike (that’s £350), original tube should be broken. Actually I bought it for only 4months and I didn’t ride on rough gravel road and I only rode it on weekends. However, the inner tube broke again and again and it was not because of spurring, just broke by itself.
3. He said he didn’t even need to check the inner tube, it was not their fault.
4. He is also kind of racism. He behaved rude to me but kind to other local people.

You see, they didn’t insure the quality of their bike.

I keep finding myself going back to Evans whenever i have a bike problem. They fixed my chain before, now they fixed the handles and even done a check after my front wheel was taken off by someone (luckily not stolen) and the wheel was not the same, but that has been fixed, i can feel the difference while riding the bike.

Chris at Evans in Cardiff provided a first class service today. Expected to wait a fews days for a bike problem to be fixed but amazingly he fixed it on the spot! Would highly recommend.

Every experience I have had at Evans Bikes in Cardiff has been top notch. The guys are always very knowledgable and genuinely want to help. The latest experience this week was equally brilliant as Pete and Dan sorted new tyres for my bike in formula one pit stop style speed, including the usual excellent standard of product and performance.
