Black Mountain bikes are absolute quality! I am blown away how quickly my son has learnt to ride a bike. The balance bike mode is such a big step in getting the kids to glide. Changing to the power mode (pedals) is relatively easy and because my son had the confidence to balance on the same bike. Using the pedals took around 15 mins to master. now we can go on bike rides together.

I was looking for a good light weight British designed bike for kids for some time. Came across Black Mountain Bikes. Bought a Skog and a Pinto for my daughter and son. We drove from Kent to pick the bikes with the kids. It was such pleasant experience and what a great product. Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was amazing!!!!

This is a great concept.
I bought one for my 5 year old boy, and he shredding the tracks with it!
The service I received was exceptional too. Andy was prompt with his expert email communications.
When we considered buying the bike, we decided that it is a 4 year investment, and our little boy is going to have a great time riding a good quality bike.
Shipping was a breeze, and the bike arrived in about a week from dispatch.
I am waiting for there next product to be released to buy it for my 7 year old!

Cheers.

Great quality bike. My is running his Skog as a balance bike at the moment and loving it. Looking forward to mount the pedals later this summer. Really good that you can use the same bike for both balance and later with pedals. As a true bonus we can size up the bike when Leo grow taller.
It really replaces three bikes.

I purchased a 16" Skog for my son who was due to be 4 back in August 2020. I had looked at a number of brands but one of the key factors for purchasing was that the bike could grow as my son did. I made an initial enquiry with Black Mountain (BM) with regards to sizing as my son was between a Pinto & Skog. BM were very responsive & helpful. I requested the bike arrive setup up in the balance mode. With some minor assembly from myself; easily done with the provided instructions, BM's own YouTube videos, and another YouTube video for a minor brake adjustment, my son was on his way. He took to it quite quickly. I like the fact it had brakes, enabling him to be become familiar with the function rather than dragging his feet. It also set him up for small pedal mode. Again, the instructions & videos enabled me to adjust with relative ease. The journey to riding pedals independently took as long as it needed to. My son looks comfortable riding. He can spin the pedals with ease, easily apply the brakes, and push himself when required, the weight of the bike not being an issue. BM have continued to offer advice when required, I asking them more recently about adjusting the height of the handlebars. I really can't fault the bike, the buying experience, or the customer support. BM will definitely be a consideration when the time comes for my son to size up.

Bought the Pinto bike for our toddler, which he loves - especially his new 'brakes'!
Easy to complete the final assembly steps, all seems very solid and well made - great to even include the tools required.
Customer support has been excellent, especially considering all the supply chain issues.
No doubt the bike is going to be great for a couple of years, once we fit the pedal kit etc.

This is a fantastic kids bike. It's really well made and the growing frame system is a brilliant innovation. Other features like brakes that kids can easily use and belt drive instead of an oily chain are also great.

I found the process of fitting the pedals and belt tricky although this was probably a case of user error... One step in the instructions said to 'slip the belt over the front crank' or something similar, which was impossible because the belt does not stretch. I worked out that what you need to do is wind the belt on by turning the crank rather than trying to 'slip' it on. I'm sure others would not have struggled as I did but it would help if the instructions said to turn the crank to wind the belt on!

Recently bought the pinto for my child. Have to say the website is clear and accurate. The live chat/contact from staff was very good. The delivery time was excellent (2 days from purchase on standard delivery). The customer service and contact whilst waiting for delivery was excellent, checking sizing and build type etc. On arrival I checked the bike. Its construction and quality is excellent. The instructions and design are second to none and the little touches within are again top quality. I am very very impressed with everything. The only thing that may put people off is the price but please dont. This bike will grow with your child and from how it's made will last. I would definitely recommend the company and bike to anyone.

Update. So had the bike now for nearly 2 years. It's amazing. My little lad is now 4 and a bit and is just starting to grow out of the smallest size. I've used the spacers on the handle bars and they will do for a while. The bike is so solid and has taken the obvious falls very well. Its lightweight meaning he gets up hills on it, hes able to handle it through bike gates etc with ease. The bike just oozes confidence which in turn means hes now on bump tracks, jumping off kerbs and doing wheelies on it. Great bike!

Update. So my little lad is over 5 now and the bike is still going strong... Little bit of wear on the seat but he uses it on pump tracks and local bike parks. It's had some hammer but apart from the seat and a few chips... Amazing bike. My little lad is 110cm tall currently and I feel that the bike will last him for another 9 months or so till I feel he's a bit big for it or technically grown out of it. I say this as he can ride 4 to 6 miles on it quite comfortably but due to his ability I may need to consider gears. Every child is different but 4 years worth of cycling from one bike for a child will do me. Again amazing bike and can't recommend highly enough.
