Positive: Great breakfast included in the price which was good value. Comfortable room in a lovely quirky old building. Fantastic location right in the middle of Bishops Castle. Staff very helpful.. Negative: The bathroom facilities were a little tired looking but all worked perfectly well, nice hot shower and we had everything we needed..

Extremely comfortable & fantastic service and fab breakfasts! A shower with proper water pressure & hot water, gorgeous comfy bed, beautiful building, plus a fan, hairdryer, earplugs, tea, coffee, hot choc, fresh milk, bottled water, all laid on. Unprecedented for a British B&B (in my experience). Everything was perfect. Inexpensive too. Thank you.

We visited Bishops Castle for a wedding 15th-17th July and chose to stay at The Poppy House. We needed an early check in which was prior agreed without issue, we arrived earlier than arrived and the room was already for us, taking the stress out of getting ready and to the wedding venue on time. The room was clean with a large comfy bed and we felt that nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious both mornings. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had two meals here over the course of our week long stay in Bishop's Castle. The food was yummy and the staff were helpful. Dogs are allowed in the front section of the Cafe which meant we could happily bring our dog along with us. I had the lasagne and a Small Breakfast, both were yummy and there were no complaints anywhere else on the table either. They were also perfectly fine with my son who wanted a combination of breakfast items not reflected on the menu! We would certainly go back if we were in the area again.

My husband and I have been staying here for over 10yrs. It is like a home from home. They cannot do enough for you and take pride in making your stay the best it can possibly be. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pillows never fail to give me the best nights sleep. Breakfast is generous and all locally sourced. Simply delicious. If anyone was to say disappointing they simply did not stay here.
