TOPSOIL - We have used this company many times for building materials and have always been pleased with the quality of products purchased, however we have spent thousands of pounds landscaping our garden and purchased 4 bulk bags of ‘grade 1’ topsoil costing £126 to fill the borders for planting. We didn’t notice when emptying the bulk bags onto the garden in the winter that it was full of broken glass and pieces of plastic. It was only when we came to put trees and plants in in the early summer that we noticed and also that it also must’ve been full of Mare’s Tails roots/spores (weeds that spread like wild fire and are notoriously difficult to eradicate) and brambles (also notoriously difficult to get rid of) as these were now appearing to grow everywhere in the boarders. I rang and spoke to someone who confirmed that Grade 1 soil is the best you can buy and informed them of the issue with the soil we had received. They were not interested in the slightest and said that their supplier had supplied it to them as Grade 1 soil. The soil we received was nothing more than land fill and we are devastated that we now have to constantly battle to keep the Mare’s Tails and brambles from taking over our beautiful garden, having had to spend a fortune on dangerous chemicals to try to kill them off. We have lived in our property for 10 years without any issues of having these weeds previously. I strongly recommend that you do not buy top soil from this company!
