Wheelchair accessible, food and drink sold in multiple small shops inside the bus station and Vending machines, friendly workers are there to be asked for all sorts of support. Currently down to 3 stars due to the heavy and disruptive restoration work being done on the bus station. Half of it is kept inaccessible by the public via metal fences and blue sheets covering these fences while the other half is open for visitors to see but not go near. This undergoing work has altered the areas to where your usual bus Would be, the timing of a few busses and also the entrances and exits look unappealing and slightly dangerous depending on the weather.
Overall, however, Preston's amazing community is still very much a part of the bus station even through all this unsettle with undergoing construction and countless bus issues so a "it's okay" 3 stars seems very reasonable at this current moment in time.

Albeit the building is looking old it's very functional and we'll laid out and has toilets that are 0.20p to use and are well kept and managed. The toilets are separated from mens and womens and the disabled toilets are free to use for the disabled. They have a few shops inside the concourse of the building.

Very spacious place. If you are between buses you can take a nap on the comfy chairs. There are vending machines for hot beverage and the prices are very cheap. The coin changing machines were not working hence we were not able to use the toilet. There is a parking space on the upper floor.

What can 1 say about the iconic bus station, used to smell off pee & puke from the late night tramps, i mean drinkers, not been there for a year now that i moved away. It was in the middle of an extensive modernization, looked clear and tidy from what i saw..

The station and its brutalist majestic architecture is going through a very welcome uplift and looks better every visit I make. Gone are the scary subways and in place are well lit walkways linking to St John's Concourse and around.
Certain features are retained but updated are the large white clocks now with digital display and the wooden topped gates which separate each bay.
There are currently empty premises in the station. But the overall feeling is a fresher, cleaner, more secure bus station a nd hub.

Lost 2 stars purely on the fact, if u run for a bus the doors open. Yet the bus takes off. Next thing you know, the doors shut and you are trapped there unable to get back in until another bus turns up. I had to walk around the back of another bus parked on its stand to get back into the station.
Totally unfair I had 4 heavy bags too.
Drivers!
If people make is to and through the doors, don't take off send leave, you're putting pedestrians lives at risk for the sake of 30 seconds.

It's not just a bus station, it's a architectural icon from a brutalist design era. The renovations in recent years have significantly improved the user friendliness of the station. There's a good level of services providing transport right across Lancashire, and the buses I used today all arrived on time. I was pleasantly surprised to find the loo's open and clean. Though there are barriers in place asking for payment, so I'm not sure if this was a one off. Nevertheless less, I saved 20p.

An architectural marvel. Modernistic design. Pretty busy but clean. Staffs are helpful
