Beautiful campsite with farm shop, cafe and bar/restaurant all very nearby. Yurts are great and feel just the right level of rustic isolation with home comforts!

Liked: Site had lots of space for kids to play ball games and we felt safe to let them play. Bell tent had everything we needed inside for our 2 night stay the log burner kept us warm at night.

Disliked: The light in the ladies toilets/showers didn’t work throughout our stay which resulted in me and my children having to use the disabled toilet. Cleanliness in the toilet block wasn’t the best, no where to put clean clothes when taking a shower, lots of cobwebs and dirty floor throughout stay.

Liked: Fabulous new yurt. Great beds. Good location. Wonderfully comfortable. Very central to the town, good travel links. Good cafe in site with goats and playground.

Disliked: Stove was not operational until our 3rd night. Road noise & refrigeration noise from nearby premises mean it’s not rural or quiet if you’re looking for that sort of location.

I’ll start from the beginning… during the booking period it was really hard work to get a quick response via email from jenni as she never answered her phone when i’ve called. I even had to ask for an email with booking confirmation / invoice as this was too much hassle to send through.

Upon arrival no sign of anyone, yet again jenni is not answering her phone. It was getting dark and cold so ive called the emergency phone number (im guessing its the owner). Finally got through to him, nice chap very apologetic but still!! Im standing outside, it’s getting cold and I’m totally clueless. In the end I had to walk around the site and check every tent / yurt and find a spare one (pretty embarrassing).

Great! 1hr later im in!!! Next issue was looking for wood around the yurt for the wood burner. No luck, they are not ready for use (as they were fitted not long ago). Again, I would understand if someone told me but no one bothered to mention anything. It was clearly noted on the website that they are working and kindling is provided. Another disappointment, as this was something that I was looking forward to.

On top of that toilets are pretty dirty, torch battery was dead, half od led lights didnt work, fridge that is on camp site is extremely dirty (i would avoid putting anything there) and new yurts are already falling apart (see photo attached). Clear lack of care, attention to detail and laziness.

If you fancy a bit of expensive outdoor survival or want to ruin your short getaway please come here!

Great location as you are close to things to do nearby which is good as there's not much on site apart from a restaurant and cafe. Cleanliness was shocking, the whole yurt was mouldy, trying to be covered up by some sheets hanging from the ceiling. Everytime we entered the yurt we were hit with the smell of damp mould and you could tell the only thing that was cleaned beteeen people staying was the sheets by the amount of dirt on the floor, cobwebs everywhere, dirty tissues in the chest of drawers and a used nappy in our bin!!! The bed was literally leaning backwards and the mattress was so thin and must be ancient as you can't even purchase mattresses that have a red plaid pattern on them anymore!! We also had 2 leaks when it rained!! The showers/toilets were covered in bugs and wasps. Can't really comment on the staff as we did not see them in the 2 days we were there. I think it's more than fair to say that our stay was not glamping and a lot of things to need to be changed in order for you to be able to call it this.

Lovely little place. Relaxed and did nothing. Gluten free breakfast at the café with bread and oat milk. Very nice.

Stayed towards the end of the 2022 season, as part of a birthday trip. Yurt was really not clean and smelt horrific, not like a wood burnt smell from the fires but unbearable rather gagging inducing smell, there was visible mold on most of the walls and the wooden beams at the top were all broken and held together with string. The yurt wasnt comfort environment, we found wet wipes & rubbish on the floor and even cigarettes ends (yurts are non-smoking). The bed we had was very old and extremely uncomfortable it was basically an old metel spring frame with thin mattress. And it make it worse the bed was in bricks, assuming so it's level but felt like it wasn't stable.
Toilet block was absolutely disgusting, it's open to the outdoors but needs a clean still, bugs, spiderwebs and dirt everywhere.
We only stayed one night of our trip it was that uncomfortable environment, as it was too late in the day we arrived to find somewhere else.
There was a couple in the yurt next to us whom were also not impressed and also left earlier.

We went in August and stayed in a Yurt. The yurt itself was clean but definitely in need of cleaning inside and out on canvas also inside of wall there was bird droppings . The site around tents needs some tlc as looks very tired !. Plants in containers not watered. Most ground solar lights on pathway not working . Although must say Graham was fantastic on greeting us. Shower block could be cleaner
