Not a bad place at all. Owner very nice and friendly, and won't over book guests due to limited facilities so not crowded. Views good, lots of flat pitches. Free freezer which is great as no hassle with change etc. Facilities very clean and well looked after. Possible improvements could be: sink for washing hands after toilet - just hand sanitizer feels a bit inadequate!
Compostible toilet fine but does needs proper lighting in there as even in daylight it's almost pitch black. Shower; frankly a bit of dribble of warm water, which goes off if anyone using sinks. It's one thing you could do with when roughing it camping; a decent shower! Appreciate electrical limitations but could get a gas bottle fed unit - or a storage tank which slowly heats up overnight?
Enjoyed stay though and would definitely come back, thanks very much

I had lovely few days coming from Newcastle down south to Lymington. Loved the campsite, eco-loos great idea, always clean, very friendly hosts. Thank you so much for the extra help with our gas cooker - will definitely be coming again!

Spent two nights camping here and have no hesitation in recommending it.
The field is large with plenty of flat areas on two levels, providing an absolutely fantastic view (see attached photo). The grass is neatly cut where the field is flat, but left long on the hilly bits attracting inumerable grasshoppers, bees, butterflies etc.
There are no defined pitches to restrict you, you turn up, sign in, and choose where you want to stay. It was easy to gain privacy and easy to reach the facilities. Very light booking density.
2 eco toilets, 1 flush toilet, 1 decent shower, 2 washing up sinks, free use of a freezer.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Anna and Bruce during my stay. Both lovely hosts, zero pressure or hassles, just useful info.
Will definitely use the site again if visiting the area and recommend you consider it too.

Liked: I think this is my favourite ever campsite, certainly in the top few. The field is big, but only a few pitches are available, so it is very spread out. You choose where to pitch. We were a good 20m+ from our nearest neighbours. It was very relaxed.

The views were lovely, as was the owner who came over to greet us.

There weren't many bugs about.

The facilities are basic, there is one flushing loo and two composting. One shower. A water point. A freezer. Two washing up sinks. That's it. However, given the few number of pitches available, there wasn't any queuing and it was all clean.

EE phone signal was poor. Giffgaff/O2 seemed OK.

Lymington town is about 1.5-2 miles away, Hurst Castle about 20 mins drive.

Stayed for 3 nights last weekend during the heatwave and found a lovely little spot with some shade at the site. Anna greeted us and was lovely. They try to keep a friendly quiet campsite and arent focused on packing people in whoch was great. I think there was only 2 other campers at one point. The facilities are just right, the composting toilets are a great addition. Would 100% recommend and stay again

Liked: The quietness, cleanliness, only so many pitches available so loads of space. The owner was lovely and very passionate about the space

Disliked: Leaving

Liked: They had toilets.

Disliked: I felt like it was massively over sold in the pictures. Basically a giant field with nothing to do but sit on dead grass. Wasn't big enough to explore. There were loads of red ant nests, so be careful. No fires or barbecues allowed. Everywhere was a drive if you have children with you. It's not safe to walk from the campsite at night as it's mainly national speed limit roads with no path. Loads of gates but they weren't marked so couldn't work out if we would end up in the owners garden. We were kept up all night by speeding cars, so it wasn't even peaceful. It wasn't secure, as there was no one signing people in or out, just a guest book. No phone signal so couldn't even put a film on for the kids at night. No designated pitches. Just felt like I paid £25 to sit in someone's garden! Didn't even see any wildlife!

Liked: We stayed at Lymington Camping for 5 nights. The shower was always clean and the perfect temperature for us. The toilets and sinks, again always clean and tidy. Spacious pitches and beautiful views, we loved the fact we could choose where we wanted to pitch up (although quite exposed so bring extra tent pegs/storm straps in case it’s windy). It was so peaceful and we all slept so well. The location was brilliant. We enjoyed days out to Lymington, Christchurch (great boat hire here to go up the river), Mudeford Quay (the best place for crab fishing) Bournemouth Beach. Lymington is a lovely place and has loads of places to eat and shop. Anna was the perfect host and always came round to see how we were and keeping the place spotless. We even got to order warm croissants for Friday morning which was the perfect treat on our last day. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed our stay.

Disliked: There are no bins which is tough if you stay for more than a few days and we couldn’t get into the refuse centre. Make sure you a prepared to take rubbish away with you.
