Liked: The landscape is beautiful and the night skies are breathtaking. The couple who run it are lovely, so helpful and laid back. Turned up last minute at half 7 which wasn't a problem. You can check in when you want and leave when you want, pitch up where you like and park next to the tent. Its basic, one shower that takes 50p for about 5 mins and a couple of toilets but its enough. There's a lovely pub about a mile away, The Three Horseshoes again lovely, friendly people, small beer garden with fabulous views and steak cooked to perfection.
We loved our weekend stay. When we realised in a haste to get away that we didn't have the correct connectors to blow up the airbed, the owners were able to provide.
You can charge your phone for 50p as well if needed. Only thing to know in advance was that they don't take card payments - only cash. This wasn't a problem either, they just told us to pay them the next day. Lovely place, would definitely return.

Disliked: nothing.

Liked: Amazing value for money with close proximity to Hay-on-Wye only about a 10 minute drive, beautiful view of the scenery with a beautiful sky on a clear night, really friendly staff who lent us some cooking oil when we realised that we forgot to bring some. Good level of facilities such as sinks for washing up, toilets and showers (costs 50p per shower) which so many other campsites in the area didn't have, all being said with it costing £42 for three nights you really can't go wrong.

Disliked: It is cash only so make sure you have enough cash before arriving, if not its about a 10 minute drive to the nearest atm.

Liked: - Toilet/shower facilities were so clean and easily accessed
- The couple running the farm were so helpful and kind , always seen chatting to the smaller children which was lovely
- ample amounts of space between tents as so many fields to choose from!
- Value for money on another level! Will be returning again soon!

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: The site was amazing. The reception staff member was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable of the local area and what was about as well as supportive in locating ourselves freely on the site.
Due to the nature of the land with some fields being very hilly we had a field pretty much to ourselves.
The site was clean and well managed.
The views were spectacular of the black mountain the one way and the farms and fields the other way! Starry night every night! Quiet and peaceful site.
We would definitely come back again, perhaps just without our dog.

Disliked: Our personal gripe: Some other campers did not adhere to the rules of keeping their dogs on leads at all times. Not the campsites fault at all but was an issue for us and our very nervous dog. I had to ask a few people to put their dogs on their leads. (Partly our fault as we were on public footpath route into the village unbeknownst to us until we finished unpacking everything!)

One of the showers was out of order, had we been their for longer than a wknd could have impacted us; as in total on site there were only three showers. There weren’t long queues or anything all things considered.

Liked: Very quiet, very clean, lovely ambience. Views are wonderful! Toilet block and showers were tidy, 50p a shower gives you plenty of time and they'll charge your phone etc at reception for 50p, very welcoming and helpful hosts. There's a Co-op in Talgath village just a couple of miles from the site for supplies. I'm on O2 mobile and the signal worked fine. Make sure you wake up around 2am just once to see the stars above, incredibly bright and aw-inspring! Enjoy your stay, I did 🙂

Liked: Sunny scenery, very quiet, only the birds and farm animals for noise. Just perfect for a chilled out weekend. Great to see youth groups using the site. The gentleman on reception couldn't have been nicer.
Lots of footpaths to go and explore.

Disliked: Only 1 shower available, but this wasn't a problem as there were so few camping

Liked: Loved staying here and will definitely go back. Amazing views, secure dog field, quiet, great showers, friendly staff, lovely pub short walk away. Only one male/female shower which was okay as site was quiet, but could see if being an issue if the site is busy. Space for kids to run around and play. Able to pick your own pitch which we prefer.

Disliked: Slightly hilly pitches but expected in the Brecon Beacons.

Liked: We booked last minute to get away for the night. Staff was helpful and told us where the best remaining spaces were.
Very friendly campers who helped us with our tent.
Can park anywhere in the fields as there’s no set pitches which suited us.
Portaloos were clean but no lighting so don’t forget a torch!
We didn’t use the shower block as we headed home early the next day.

Disliked: The amount of dogs off lead!
We were approached by dogs off lead when we pulled up to the our pitch.
The owners failed to see why we didn’t want the dogs near our BBQ or near our tent.
Same happened the next morning, we walked past a camper van and two dogs ran at us off lead aggressively barking.
Owner said they was friendly but we didn’t stick around to find out!
It’s a fab little campsite but the rules really needs to be re-enforced with the dogs.
