Eco friendly campsite in a beautiful location with views of the mountains and the sea. Short walk to the nearby pebble beach or slightly further to the sandy beach at Trefor harbour. Cannot park near your tent ( this is clearly advised at booking) and if on the Riverside pitches your nearest toilets are composting toilets. Restaurant on site has limited menu & slightly pricey but food good quality. With a few tweaks this could be an excellent camp site. Owners and staff are excellent.

What a treat. A lovely campsite with some great facilities including great showers, flushable toilets in one area and we'll maintained compostable toilets in another area.

I really enjoyed the restaurant area and the garden. I think they have nailed a smaller sized menu. I think it's better to do a smaller selection of things but really really well than a large menu and everything be average. The blueberry and basil lemonade was particularly good as was the cheeseboard. Absolutely 10/10

We're a family of 4 and loved every minute of our time here. Even when part of our camp came apart in the windy weather (a not very good gazebo which I really shouldn't have brought) one of the owners came and really helped us out so we could continue our stay. This was hugely appreciated.

I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and creating such a wonderful site for the whole family. Lovely chats in the morning, afternoon and evening and never once felt like I was impeding on their time.
Everything was on point and we would love to return.
I would highly recommend this campsite and wish we lived closed so we could visit here more.

Thanks guys, we're stoked to have met you and had the experience we did.

We were unfortunately disappointed with the food when we visited here a few weeks ago. We had the pleasure of staying at their other campsite which was beautiful and had heard about the restaurant. My husband and I ordered the fish tacos which were disappointing. For the price I was expecting fresh cod with some coating not frozen fish fingers from a box. We also ordered the rosemary potatoes as a side which tasted as they had been cooked days before and were reheated. We had a very long wait on food and 3 of us had finished the main before the 4th received theirs.
A real shame as we had read good things but unfortunately didn’t live up to expectation.

Great family friendly eco campsite. Pitches are well separated with long grass in between so never feel rammed in. Restaurant/café/bar offer good selection of locally produced food and drink - very tasty and recommend the pizza night. Site is a 5 min walk to a pebble beach and further walk to sand beach. Site has plenty of “hidden” dens/swings and paths for children to enjoy exploring.

Facilities are a mixture of flush and compost loos. Showers are nice and warm. You can’t park near the pitches (part of feeling near nature is hiding the cars from the campers) but they provide wheelbarrows. There are is about 5 hard standing pitches for campervans - nicely sheltered in small woodland and again hidden from the tents. Will say the hard shale standing is tricky getting pegs in for awnings.

Overall we enjoyed camping here although this is because the campsite is in a picturesque location and not because of the facilities, service or welcome provided by the owners. The facilities were good but I would describe them as very standard for any half decent camp site nowadays. There weren’t any lights in the toilets-which makes it difficult to do in the dark, particularly with young children. There were also no hand towels or hand driers in the toilets. I also wouldn’t recommend this site if you are expecting there’ll be lots around-there isn’t. There is a beach but it’s shingle, again not great for young children. It’s not a private beach either as claimed on the website. If you want to go anywhere nice for a day out you have to get in the car and drive for at least half an hour. There isn’t even a pub nearby. Lastly I would describe the on site restaurant as incredibly overpriced. The food there is average at best and in no way worth the money that is charged for it. The restaurant is basically a shed with a van for a kitchen so they can’t have very many overheads that justify the astronomical prices. On a positive note they provide free tea and coffee facilities which were great and we used these a lot.

If you are thinking about booking - do it! Such a great place - the restaurant is lovely, with a sand pit, little play house and toys for the kids whilst the grown ups eat the delicious (and really reasonably priced) food. The setting is fabulous and the beach a short walk away is a real bonus. Basic facilities but all clean and nicely done. The campervan pitches are on gravel in the trees but that was ideal in the heat. River for paddling and rope swings on site. The staff are great and the site is beautifully presented Will definitely return.

Bert's - what a great place.
We were there at the end of July during the hottest time on record in the UK.
And we enjoyed it!
The place is really cool and you can spend few days unwinding just by being there, walking around, finding new nice spots, enjoying a cool or hot drink in the kitchen garden or following the signs to the beach.
The space for our motorhome in the wood lands was extra spacious and even with two other vans next to you, you feel almost alone. Calm and sheltered. The shade was nice against the scorching sun but killed a bit of the solar energy. Anyway if needed we could charge our little power station in the common room next to the restaurant where you also get free coffee and tea and some space in the fridges.
The kitchen garden & restaurant is a little heaven, nice drinks to enjoy the sunset even more, the pizza comes fresh out of the oven and is as tasty as the other dishes we tried from the menu.
Only downer was going from the little gem in Wales to another campsite near Exmouth. Too noisy and crowded and it took us a while to get used to this environment again.
Go to Bert and enjoy.

One of the best campsites ever!

We have travelled all over the world in our van and this is definitely one of our favourite places. We've been for the past two years and we've enjoyed it so much, the owners, setting, location, and food are just perfect. Sadly we won't be coming again this year as they are no longer dog friendly :( Completely understand why as people weren't obeying the rules - you minority people suck!! Hopefully, this will be reconsidered soon to maybe just one part of the site?! We would love to come back but hate camping without our pooch!
