Picked up at Bath and they gave me a empty car but said it was full, called up Europe car who said ok and added a note to the system.
When dropping off at Cardiff they were very unfreindly and accused me of lying even though I had a petrol receipt for £40, 15mins after picking up the car and it was on the system.
No apology just bloody accusations!!
Sort it out Cardiff!
I know, signs that help you navigate aren't common in the UK, but if you're in a hurry to get on your plane confusion is the last thing you need.
Other than that, the customer service was awesome. I won’t return though due to the charge for fuel.
⚠️
The vehicle had not been adequately checked, and I almost drove on the motorway with my family. RAC said it should have been serviced and was unsafe to drive.
⚠️ Before handing the car and keys back, I was told there were no extra costs and that all had been paid. The manager knew I was heading to the airport and I had refilled the car with diesel, but this was added to the bill and other expenses that they will not explain.
The manager at Europe car, Cardiff airport, referred me to customer service, to who I have already sent emails without receiving a proper response.
I would be willing to delete this post and move forward if someone would please remove the extra charges that were not agreed upon, along with the diesel charge and send compensation for most of a day without the car.
I am disappointed because the manager at Cardiff
airport seemed genuine and helpful, and I have never written such a negative review. It's incredibly cruel and mean to do this to people, and I have read that many people have been through similar situations. You lack integrity and honesty, and should be ashamed.
I hope we can resolve this situation fairly and quickly.
The manager is nice although he asks a lot of unnecessary personal questions.
Firstly, we were given a car that was damaged, we could hear a rattling sound from the front of the car. We called the breakdown service and were told that a bolt head had snapped in the engine. This was not a driver error but an error not checked during the service of the car. We then needed to spend a lot of money on train tickets to get from Roose to Oxford. Not only this but we weren't offered a lift to pick up a replacement as the Rhoose branch was closed on that day, Sunday. After contacting Europe car about the issue there was very little customer care towards helping our situation.
Next, in the branch, you never seem to get a direct quote until the moment you have made your decision and are about to sign then, suddenly, there is an extra cost. This is compounded further by staff who want to talk about everything other than the actual cost as a distraction technique.
Also, we had agreed upon the final price of the overall rental. Then the invoice arrived which was very different from what was agreed. We were charged for fuel even though we topped up the car at the dropoff location. An additional cost for equipment was charged, but no one at Europe car can tell me what that equipment was.
Lastly, trying to contact customer service and get a direct answer to my questions is impossible.
It seems that you will be given the gift of the gab when inquiring about a rental, only to be given the cold shoulder when you have an issue. Once you have paid your rental fee the customer service is null and void and I am expecting a general response from Dave, referring us to customer service, which we have already done.
We left on good terms and planned on using Europ car again but it feels the friendly persona of the management was an attempt to divert from the money being sneakily added on and the overly chatty conversation is an attempt to work out your character to take as much money as possible.
The manager knew we live abroad and waited until we left to send us a final bill, which we were not expecting and is incorrect.
We feel disappointed and deceived.
