One of the beautiful castle of Wales and the village is also very beautiful. The only problem we faces that there is no nearest cafe or restaurant that open during lunch time. So we had to drive far for having our lunch. Overall the journey was pleasant and could be a good day trip for anyone who lives south-west wales.

A small, but relatively intact castle, hidden away in deepest Wales. Well worth a visit - probably won't take more than a couple of hours to look round, but you'll be glad you went. Lovely views from the top of the keep, and lots of little stairs and rooms for kids to explore.

Kidwelly Castle is definitely one of the most impressive castles that I have visited in Wales. There's a small car park directly outside the castle entrance which has eleven parking bays and one disabled bay; we visited on a sunny Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't very busy there, so had no problem parking.

The entrance fee of £6 an adult is a good price to visit such a great castle. It's dog friendly, but you can't get to the upper levels or the towers with a dog, so we had to take it in turns to climb the towers. The grounds are exceptionally clean and well maintained and the castle is situated in a great location - Kidwelly is a nice, little town. There's a great little pub with a beer garden opposite as well where we enjoyed a nice pint afterwards.

Most definitely worth a visit!

Nice castle. Not in great shape after all those year, but not ruin either. Still a lot to learn there, able to climb to the towers or walk on the walls. Easily to spend couple of hours there with great views. And at the back of the castle is picnic area with tables and benches.
There's small car park free of charge and relatively big I would call it overflow carpark on the left before arrival to the main one.
Entrance fee £6.50 through gift shop. Nice clean toilets straight after the entrance.

Hidden gem of a castle set in a beautiful little village. It's cheap to get in, very beautiful, with mostly intact towers and walls, with tonnes of spiral staircases, passageways and dungeons to explore. Incredibly panoramic views from the top of the middle tower in all directions.

Very much worth a visit

A really good castle to explore as it's huge with lots of things to see and do. My child really enjoyed the experience and the little gift shop. Car park is quite small so will have to find alternative parking on busy days, but there's plenty around.

A very well preserved castle indeed. Not a massive place but nevertheless it is epic. Most areas are still strong enough for you to explore and with many nooks and crannies to stick your nose in. Some interesting pieces of info are dotted around. I really found myself transported back in time to imagine life living here.

Visited on 10/12/2022. This for me was my first-ever visit to a Castle. I loved how we were left to explore the ruins and grounds. How you could climb the very steep stairs to get an amazing view of the surrounding areas. Fun-filled facts are potted around the grounds, allowing insight into the history of the castle. It takes less than an hour to walk around, however, there are benches inside the grounds where you can top for a breather or a quick snack.
Small car park near the entrance. Toilets available as well.
