Needed a coffee when arriving in Maesteg, tried this rather retro café and loved the atmosphere, and served by really helpful staff. So good we returned for lunch, and had a lovely snack lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We must return next time we're in Maesteg. 5 stars from all three of us!

This place is excellent for me, they do gluten free, and dairy free products most of the time. Food is well cooked and nicely presented, staff are always present, helpful approachable. It's always a pleasant experience eating at Iced. Four stars coz there's always room for improvement.

Delicious food and amazing service. I have been here before and this is always venue of choice for when I come to visit my mother.

This place has a friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and great cakes in all varietys.

Myself and my wife took our nephews to the Elf High Tea yesterday and needless to say they both thoroughly enjoyed it.

If your just looking for a cuppa, some food or a sweet treat - Iced Cake Parlour is definitely where to head.

Was second customer through the door on a Saturday morning and found fairly scant offerings. Just a few brownies, few cookie dough, no cheesecake, no stuffed cookies, no macarons. The only confectionery in plentiful supply was cupcakes.
The items I bought were delicious though!

This little establishment could be seen as a jewel in the crown of Maesteg. It should not detract from the quality of the place in the reader's mind when one writes that the competition is not great, but that simply in my opinion, is the case. This unfortunate position merely makes iced cake parlour more of a haven of pleasant experience both in terms of the delicacies on offer and the friendly professional service of staff.

Update. June 2022.
Jewel clouded.

The physical feel of the cafe has not changed and it seems to remain popular, however I find less to commend the service these days.

In the space of about twenty minutes recently, three of my politely put requests simply generated negative and curt replies.

eg.
1.
"May I have a Welsh cake please?"
"Haven't got any"

2.
I took a Visa card from my wallet as this is always the way I have paid for years.
The directive, barked:

"Cash only" and a finger pointing at a scribbled note on the old cash machine.

3.
I asked for a second pot of tea with:
"May I have another pot of tea please?" - as I returned to the counter with cash and my first empty pot

The response
"You'll have to pay for it - we don't do refills"
Sufficng of the attitude presenting I said
"Yes if course I had assumed that"

It's a huge shame that a place with such potential seems to accept such poor customer care to its clientele.

I used to enjoy calling there - now I call simply for the pleasing physical environment built by others in the past and I try to ignore the lack of decorum - total lack of decorum -- in the service.

Had a coffee with a bacon sandwich. I commented to them that the sandwich (as usual) is second to none. In fact it's the second this week.... As always highly recommended!
