Southwark council have made shopping on their High Street a more difficult prospect as surrounding roads have been sneakily closed under the cover of the pandemic lockdown, so now, if you are thinking of purchasing a bulky item it is more awkward.

As for the shop itself, it was empty when I went on a Sunday morning in September 2020; I ordered & paid online then popped down; that was the easy bit.

The staff, well, that was something else. I was served, well, served is probably stretching my experience a bit, let me start again... I was in the presence (unbeknownst to me) of someone far too important to be 'working' in Argos; this young person, possibly a teenager, dained not to use her valuable energy in speech. And when she actually spoke it was a sight to behold, as she resolutely determined that no absolutely no extra energy, other than that for the essential act of breathing, should be wasted on speaking to one such as me: as such, her surly, monosyllabic utterances were barely discernible from her previous silence. That coupled with her inability to look me in them face meant that I genuinely could not hear her and just had to wait patiently to see what would unfold.
I won't bore you any more of the details, it was a deeply unpleasant experience, one I won't be repeating - there are plenty of other places to choose from; it's just a real shame the local store was let down so badly.

Went in to do a refund, the store was clean and the staff member who served me was good. Id never done a Paypal refund before and thought there might be a hassle, however the process went sweet. Only downside was if the place was to get robbed or if the till staff had a problem customer, the security guard wouldn't attend as he was on his phone from the second i walked in and seemed more interested in what ever he was doing.

The lady working on the collection desk on Monday 30th November at 12:30pm was pretty unfriendly. I always treat staff how I would like to be treated when I’m working - and I think it’s fair to expect the same in return, rather than a frosty reception. Doesn’t make you want to use Argos in future if the customer experience is this cold.

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
at the Peckham Rye Argos Branch!!!

I walked into the branch at 10.15
Monday 27th December and I kid you not… every single screen was riddled with finger marks and smudges. It looked like a HOT BED for OMICRON!! 🤯

I went up to the woman behind the counter and asked her what was happening and why not one screen had been cleaned. She shrugged it off!
It was clear she couldn’t care less!
Her name was KYANE!!

I then asked her and her colleague for tissue and sanitizer to clean the screens.
Her collegue found the sanitizer bottle but couldn’t find the blue roll. The woman behind the counter named Kyane Brahan did nothing but stand there!

I then asked her to help her collegue find the tissue and she refused!!
Kyanes customer service was so disgraceful I don’t actually understand how she even has a job. I am still in shock!

It was evident that my asking her to help me the customer, clean Argos screens, was far to much to ask!

Her demeanour was hostile, rude, and she truly looked like she did not want to be in the building let alone stop the spread if covid and help me! I then asked her why she was just standing there and she refused to help me and said the manager will deal with it.

I was as if I had asked her to donate a kidney!!!

I then asked her manager for help and omg he was just as rude!

Job the manager of Argos is disgracefully bad at his job. He told me that I have to wait as the BLUE ROLL IS LOCKED AWAY, in the cash office!! I then asked him how he cleans regularly if the blue roll is locked in the cash office…he the rudely replied…like I said to u…it’s in the cash office.

I then had to wait while he dealt with a customer and then went to the back to get the cleaning supplies that should already be out!!

He then hands me tissue and I was flabbergasted!

He expected ME TO CLEAN 🤯
I asked him if he was actually going to make a customer clean the Argos screens and he replied “u asked for tissue”!!!

I couldn’t believe the level of rudeness, arrogance, combined with severe laziness…especially due to the fact that he was the manager!

He then out right REFUSED TO CLEAN THE ARGOS SCREENS when I asked him to do so! He only cleaned one, the one I was using and REFUSED to clean the others! I am still in shock!

Your staff do not care at all about covid, OMICRON and the spreading of germs in your establishment!

Every single screen this morning was rancid! Absolutely RANCID…u could see the smudges and detailed finger prints from a far! Please note it that it was clearly was not cleaned the night before!

Disgusting customer service from both JOB THE MANAGER
KYANE BRAHAN

The worse customer service I have ever received in my ENTIRE life!

Job the manager should have set an example and instead was petulant and arrogant due to the fact that I the customer dare tell him what to do! His pride and ego was more important than helping to keep people safe and prevent the spread of OMICRON! Job and Kyane made it dead clear that all the tea in China couldn’t make them care about Argos and the customers!

You have two people in your organisation that don’t care about covid or good customer service! Kyane and job are terrible at what they do!! I am utterly disgusted at how I was treated because I dare tell staff to clean the screens. Whoever is in charge there needs to get a handle on things.

They are failing miserably sbd should be embarrassed and ashamed. The job role is t that hard!!

Merry Christmas!!

Try updating your closing times. States 8pm online and kept customers out from 7pm. Rude staff and security - weren't even willing to explain to us the discrepancy. Will click and collect from a different location moving forwards.

Goods should be sold as advertised. I bought a necklace which was shown in a lovely gift box but the necklace came in a plastic bag. Not impressed.

Click & collect Had to park one street away. It was definitely covid safe best thing was no queue and MIKE generously carried the big heavy item to my car and loaded it in.
