Staff very helpful with good selection in kitchen dept. Sales person John not pushy and gave us good info about having kitchen from B&Q. Kim on paint mixing very helpful regarding paint and wallpaper we bought. Good selection. Much improved on past visits.
Only downside. Floor at click and collect desk has had metal studs in floor covered individually and not smooth. Stubbed my toes and made me unsteady. Have poor mobility so important to keep my balance and not fall over obviously . Waited for manager but left as he was busy with another customer.

Huge, wide range, but as always rarely have the exact item you want in stock. And the shelf edge labelling compared to the goods on show remains poor in places.

I'm only writing this comment because it was not the first time this happened. I went to Chelmsford B&Q on Sunday morning around 10:05am. I wanted to buy an OSB board and cut it to certain sizes. There was already a que at the timber cutting section, but no staff to do the cutting. I've waited 20 minutes then I left the store. On the way out I asked one of the staff when the timber cutting service will open, because I've thought it starts when the store opens. She told me there should be already somebody there. I told her there were a que there and I had waited 20 minutes but no staff. She was so convinced I was wrong so she told me again there should be a staff there. It looked like I've just made up a story. I did not want tell her again I was there for 20 minutes and the que was building up, so I've just left the store.
This was not the first time when no staff was available for timber cutting. B&Q should not advertise about timber cutting service (from opening to closing) if they do not do it, or just reduce the hours for that service and let customers know, so we do not waste our time and petrol to travel to the store.

Very friendly and competent staff. Had an issue with some payment cards, which was mainly my fault, but the till attendant and her supervisor were extremely patient and calm under pressure. Thank you!

Almost a surreal experience. 10am Thursday morning and plenty of customers and stock but just a handful of staff about. Is this turning into a giant self-service store.....don't we talk to people any more?
So staffing was.....1 at the collection point looking bored, 1 at the paint mixer looking bored....and 1 standing close behind me to watch me scan my items at the self-scan/pay-by-card....presumably in case I was planning on making off with an unscanned item. No manned tills, just a row of the self-scans.
It's only the stock volume and choice that brings me back.

Can't really see the point of a trade card have to spend £250 to get 5% off which is ridiculous its easier with Wickes Trade card 10% off and occasionally 15%
