We came here for my birthday yesterday and left really disappointed. Our starters came out before our drinks even though we ordered a tap water and two soft drinks so reasonably fast drinks to make and the restaurant was not busy whatsoever. We ordered the loaded vegan nachos which did not come loaded and we were told the waitress didn't know we wanted the loaded ones even though plain nachos weren't on the menu and it was specifically pointed to and read out. The cauliflower bites tasted like nothing but oil and were really greasy. My main was the smothered no chicken and it came without bbq sauce (the point of it was it was smothered in bbq sauce), the bacon arrived separately on a massive plate and the vegan chicken itself was tough and dry, I had problems cutting through it and chewing it. My mums vegan burger was also tough and dry. The roll was stale, the top was inedible, she could not finish her meal. Really disappointed because we've never had an issue with the food here before so we thought it would be a pretty safe option for a birthday meal, especially when they state on the menu which vegan brands they use and they're the same ones we use at home which we thought were pretty hard to mess up. We also had a senior member of staff cut in front of one of us while we were trying to be seated without an apology for doing so, we understand staff have places to be but it showed a lack of care and respect from the start. We also heard a member of staff saying "make sure you tell people we have no haddock, it's sods law someone will want it" as if it is the customers fault for ordering something off the menu. The one positive was that the man they were training was very respectful and polite and deserves to be recognised as such

Very nice place adjacent to the Premier Inn. Very friendly and efficient staff. Our waitress Rosie (I think) was great. She took our orders (5 of us) without writing anything down and everything was exactly as we'd asked even with people wanting changes to the standard menu (sweet potato fries instead of chips etc ). Very impressed. Breakfast was also very good with the food being replaced very quickly before it got too low so was always nice and hot. Vegetarian options were cooked on request but came out very quickly.. We're unlikely to go there again but that's the Premier Inn's fault, not the restaurant, but that's a different review...

Just ate here this afternoon. Was slightly underwhelmed walking in, a young guy behind the bar just shouted ‘ZOE… DOOR’ then Zoe strolled up still talking to her friend but I suppose in a cheap and cheerful place it’s to be expected that the staff are more casual. Which is why it was a really wonderful surprise to be served by our waitress Suzanne. She was a hospitality professional! So friendly, catering, aware and prompt. She really brought our mood up. Food was great for the price. Can guarantee Suzanne should be getting paid more than she is 😬

Great food, especially the carvery. Great value for money. And all staff we have dealt with are happy, helpful and a good laugh. Been a few times now and look forward to going back

Had a lovely meal here for a birthday, great table service, and great food at reasonable prices. Amazed at how the waiter managed to remember about 10 different orders without writing anything down, will definitely come again. All round great location, nice and clean

This is a random place. It is trying to be a traditional pub, but on a modern service station complex and so is an odd conflict. So forget the outside. Inside is simple, but works and staff are great. It's not trying to be posh or impressive. The food was good and worth it. In fact it is what a pub is meant to be if you ignore the setting.

We visited as we had an offer come through so we thought we'd try it. Haven't been for a while but the portions were very small - 20 chips ! The order was wrong twice but they did change it quickly. I wanted a festive turkey dinner but because they had several large bookings, I wasn't allowed to have it ...ordered the festive burger instead and just left the bun ! I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend- definitely not before Christmas! At least it was warm and the staff friendly.
