Previously I have had problems with small business washing their hands of issues after a year. Therefore I was expecting push back and potentially some robust discussions!!!
I have now (privetly) eaten my hat with a dollop of humble pie. The staff could not have been more helpful. Once I'd explain the issue in the shop, a problem they had not encountered before, they promised to get someone out as soon as possible. 4 hrs later two engineers turn up. They carried out an inspection and resealed the unit, although they could not readily see why the issue has arisen. The stove works perfectly again.

As we are in lock-down I contacted Mark and sent photographs and asked him to call me to discuss the next day. I am still waiting for the call.
This could have caught our house on fire and we have spent two days with windows and doors open to clear the smoke smell in the room. If I do not hear from Mark (Flames of Lincoln by the close of play today I will be taking this matter further and making a complaint of the shoddy workmanship to Hetas. I will also be speaking to a Solicitor as under the sales of goods act 1974 the work carried out was not fit for purpose and was a serious health and safety breach on their behalf.
A very poor experience .
An update Mark has called me this morning 29/05/20 and apologised for the incident.We have come to an amicable agreement and this matter is now closed. I can only assume we were unlucky and thank Mark for resolving this issue hopefully now we can enjoy the wood burner when the weather changes back from the present heatwave!

In response to reply by Flames - a competent gas fitter has done so but had to remove the whole surround to do so. Had it been fitted by a competent gas fitter in the first place this extra 2 hours work and cost would not have been required!
From initial browsing in the shop to the salesman’s knowledge and understanding of what I wanted, the purchase process, ordering, delivery & fitting of the fireplace could not be faulted.
Extremely happy with the quality & service.
